I spent ages today in my local Tesco going through all the different yogurts looking for the healthiest option, ie the one with the least sugar I guess.

I ended up with Glenisk Organic Greek Style Natural Yogurt. Good or bad choice? Is there any better ones that you could recommend? Thanks.

Greek yogurt is the one I go for. I personally love the Lidl Greek Style yogurt, you get a big tub of it for 2.49 and it's so rich and thick it feels sinful to eat. And it's amazingly filling.

I'm friggin addicted to Lidls 1kg tub.

Aldi also do 500gm greek style for 99c. Tastes the exact same

Great thanks. I'm not near an Aldi or a Lidl unfortunately so is the Glenisk one I picked a good enough option?

I'm on a huge yogurt buzz at the moment. Greek/Natural yogurt is good but today I've discovered the most delicious thing on the planet, and its healthy (88Kcal/100g)

Glenisk Vanilla Flavour. Its got real vanilla pods in it an everything. Tastier than Icecream IMO, and you could only eat half the tub in one sitting, its really filling :D

    Try it!

Seemed like it had a lot of sugar in it when I looked at it? They are gorgeous though I agree, I just need a healthier option.

Yeah i suppose, the plain lowfat yogurt has got less sugars. Just throw a handful of berries in and you're sorted.
But if you're feeling indulgent some day i'd reccomend the vanilla :P

or...you could add some vanilla extract/pod and Xylitol/Stevia to the plain variety, and Bob's your sugarfree Uncle!:D

What's the difference between Greek yoghurt and Greek style yoghurt?
Was told greek yoghurt was a better source of protein than other types but any of the ones I see in Dunnes/Tesco are quite low in protein, anyone any idea which ones are good for this (protein)?

Just read the label. They'll all tell you how much protein per 100g of yogurt, and you can compare yourself.

Well obviously that is what I am doing ...and...like I said...they are all quite low in protein...i'm asking if anyone knows of any particular brands that are high in Protein -sorry if my op was unclear.

Glenisk Organic Greek Style Yogurt Natural = good and no added sugar
Glenisk Organic Low Fat Natural Yogurt = better as lower in calories
Yoplait Natural Yogurt - good and no added suger
Ski Natural Yogurt = bad as they put sugar into it

Stay away from low fat yogurts, they just replace all the fat with sugar or sweeteners

    Glenisk Organic Blueberry, heavenly.

the blueberry has quite a bit of added sugar

Highest protein - fage greek yogurt. 9gm protein per 100gm

Is it possible to get Fage in Ireland? I'd love to try some, it keeps popping up on the US-based health blogs I follow and looks lovely.

Its savage - i would mix in bout tablespoon of crunchy peanut butter....you can also add a scoop of whey choc powder (or cocoa) and it tastes like a snickers (although Mr T might call me on that :)). also great mixed with honey and some toasted seeds and nuts.

Damn you tesco...you took it from me!
