UPC shows menus but not picture

    Hello, i have UPC broadband and tv and while i can navigate through the channels, menus and tv guide, whenever i select a channel to watch, i just get a plain black picture.
    I have rebooted the box and checked everything is plugged in correctly. also i am getting no error messages. this could be something simple as i've never used UPC television before

    I just moved into this place, my roommates are away for the week and i have no details of the subscription so i cannot ring up customer care. also the internet is working fine so it can't be a problem about the bill not being paid

    any help is appreciated

    I had this problem a few times. Solution is a reboot! Just power it off and on.

    I think the root cause is to do with the power save options. Turn them off too, and the problem shouldn't come back.
