Heya I''ve been going gym over a year . But I did mainly cardio and went regularly for 4/5 days a week spend about 1 and a half hours-2hours on the crosstrainer , treadmill, bikes or rower (not 2 hours straight). Then I changed it to spending 10min on cardio then just doing , sit ups , planks , crunches , bicycle then more cardio for 45mins . I've done this for nearly 6 weeks now after realising doing only cardio wasn't working. But I'm still not see results and I am eating healthy. So now I've gotten kinda bored as nothing seems to be working for me . Whats a good program to follow? I'm not sure how to use all the machines .

stay away from the machine weights. get into the free weights, they are much better for you - try a couple of 5kg dumbbells and ask one of the fitness instructors to give you some exercises with them. You should try and develop approx 10 resistance exercises which work your whole body into a 45 minute resistance workout with say 3 sets of 20 reps, resting very little in between and keeping your heart rate very high - this type of workout burns a serious amount of fat and you will notice the difference in your body shape pretty quickly if you stick with it. Also try and mix in some good old fashioned push ups, pull ups and squats. If you can't do any push ups or pull ups google them and find out about ways how you can work up to doing them from scratch. Your doing way too much cardio in my view but i think you know that. Cardio is obviously good but too much is bad in my view - you will just be wrecked all the time. perhaps look to reducing the cardio to say 2-3 sessions per week? best of luck!

I might try that , I don't always see the gym instructors around or they don't stay long and it's hard to get them.

It may be good idea to get a private trainer for few sessions, to design a program for you and show your proper form. Well worth the money.

Do gym instructors not set programs? I think my gym sets ones but you just have to ask but I have not yet got one. Could you still achieve the same potential by getting a program rather then a trainer?
