If you trained hard but your diet wasnt what most experts say is perfect but you still ate below maintenance?

when I say your diet wouldnt be optimal, what i mean is your wouldn't comply with what mainstream bodybuilding and fitness experts preach, for example

    1. You dont eat 6 times a day, some times you might but more often then not 2 or 3 times day

2.you dont eat 1 to 1.5g of protein a day or proten with every meal?

    3. you dont eat lots of fruit and veg or good fats.

The reason im asking this is because the main reason people give for being out of shape is because they dont exercise and they eat junk food when in reality it isnt the contents of the actual diet thats causing it but the fact your eating more calories then you consume.

Everyone has there own way of eating thats habbitual to them and while it may not be perfect compared to what the mainstream industry says is perfect , its also not 100% rubbishy either

Sure most people can start a new diet and stick to it for a few weeks but eventually they will go back to their former habbits, so instead of a complete overhaul isnt it better to make minor changes to ensure that at the end of the day your eating less then maintenance

If you concentrate on training hard, eating sensibly and ignoring 99.9% of what the health and fitness industry would like to believe, then you can get in fantastic shape.

The whole 6-meals-a-day-is-best myth was spread purely to convince people to buy meal replacement/protein drinks and other supplements. If people realised that they didn't need the vast majority of the supplements sold in heath stores, the whole multi-billion dollar supplement industry would totally collapse.

... as long as you (can honestly) add -
    4. you don't eat lots of bad fats either
    &
    5. you don't eat 6 times a day but neither do you skip breakfast and then decide you can have a little extra something nice later on
