does anyone know if a multivitamin covers these in a sufficent dose or should these be used along with a mutivitamin.

Personally I would be looking to see which natural whole foods would supply these vitamins and minerals as I believe your body would absorb them better from whole food sources then from some pill.

I don't think any multi vitamin would get you all of those in one. Why not bring the list to your local health food store and ask them?

I hear MoreEPA is a recommended brand of omega three fish oils. For vitamins some well known brands are Quest, Solo and Solgar.

More EPA etc are wayyyyy over priced - get on to www.iherb.com and get your magnesium from source naturals, fish oils from carlsons, B +C complex from source naturals again and eat real food for zinc as its needed in tiny quantities.

Sorry i did not provide direct links but someone else can link if they have the time

    Thanks for the replies lads

Transform if you have the time,
I seen from a previous post of yours that you recommend Solgar Multi Vit. This has magnesium and calcium as oxides and carbonate.

Are oxide magnesium supps ok or are the malates, ascorbates and citrates on iherb a better option

whats your view on liquid versus tablet multivitamins etc

Also is the iherb site reliable to buy from and where is it based

heading home now so keeping it brief -

magnesium is needed in gram quantities so if its in a multi then its never going to be enough - most magnesium supplements will be a mix but i personally go for magnesium malate from source naturals.

Solgar are a good off the shelf supplement but again if you order from www.iherb.com and stick to companies like source naturals, now, twinlab, carlsons then you really cant go wrong.

ohh one more thing 500-1000mg of fish oils is feck all if thats all that is recommended per day especially if you need if for a condition - i would bump it up to 3-5g per day and take out any of the pro-inflammatory foods you might be consuming - e.g. omega 6's, junk foods, wheat etc

there is a ton of research showing the positive effects of fish oils on depression which combined with just getting more sleep, getting people to meditate, eating less junk and taking some exercise would be the best approach (the article read like a magic bullet solution with pills IMO).

slight edit - the fish oil recommendation is for 3-5g of fish oils so that will depend on the oil or tablets you buy ti get the EPA and DHA up to 1000mg. A big table spoon of twinlab fish oil or carlsons will do the trick though

Thanks for the iHerb information.I've just ordered this Carlsons Fish oil http://www.iherb.com/Carlson-Labs-The-Very-Finest-Fish-Oil-Lemon-Flavor-16-8-fl-oz-500-ml/2796?at=0

Using your discount code, this comes to 19 euro including shipping. I'd looked at the Twinlabs product but the Carlsons has 4 times more servings and you're only required to take 5ml per serving as opposed to 15ml.

This will be my first purchase of fish oil in liquid form - I've been taking the Holland and Barret Capsules but think this will be a MUCH better product :D

If you are ordering, my discount code for www.iherb.com is ROR319. This will give you $5 off your first order.
