As the title asks, I am wondering if any of you know of any good places for secondhand chandlery and boating hardware?
Stuff like seating, decking, rails, lighting, cleats, sterring, cables, you name it.

Any good secondhand marine trading websites ?
Any secondhand marine auctions / shops?
    Any marine trading mags?

    Many thanks

It depends on what you are looking for. Here are some of the ones that I check.

    apolloduck.ie
    ebay.ie
    donedeal.ie
    buyandsell.ie
    and your local newspaper.

Many thanks, I am a regular user of all the above, I was just wondering if there were any others a little more specialised towards marine / boating (apolloduck excepted)

The IWAI have an extensive list of Chandlery Links at http://www.iwai.ie/irishchandlers.html. Some of those may have trade-in's. Is there a specific boat that you are trying to re-equip/restore?

I'm restoring an old 1970's 17' day cruiser. I'd like to refit it as well as I can on a budget. I have completely stripped it back to the bare fibreglass shell so as I say in my op, I need all sorts of bits n bobs.

Same as what waterRat said Ebay would be my biggest, keep a eye on done deal and buy & sell for adds like this one last weekend.

As for the steering cable buy that new and measure it to fit your boat, http://www.iboats.com/basics/measure_steering_cables.html you can get a kit with cable and helm for about €150 and it is worth it for piece of mind

Here is another place to keep an eye on.

I read somewhere about a kind of car boot sale for marine items in DL harbour? Can't remember where I saw it but it was in the last month or so.

There's a boat jumble on in Carrickfergus sunday week (April 10). As far as I know it's a British one and dealers in second hand and new stuff turn up to them.
