Hey, I'm thinking of doing some sailing this summer. Just leisurely sails in the sea and nothing too serious (like racing and such).

I'ld like to know if there's somewhere you can rent a dinghy for a day's sail and how much would it cost??

Also are these any requirements you need to have to sail in the sea? I know how to sail but I didn't do any course or such...

As far as I know there is no such resource in Dublin, you could talk to Sutton Dinghy Club maybe?

I think clontarf yacht club might be worth a try also, as far as I know they do boat rental. http://www.cybc.ie/
You could probably buy a small dinghy like this for what you pay to rent one.

Not unless they are a 10 year old child!:D Oppy's are great, but they are for kids only.

Ok OK how about this :Dhttp://www.adverts.ie/boats-accessories/420-c/522051

It was the predecessor to the oppy that got me started in boat restoration in the first place so I have a little soft spot for them and I'm still a 10 year old at heart. This one had all the bells and whistles :D

I was actually very interested a while ago in buying something like a laser dinghy but I really have no where to put it... Where do people generally store their dinghys and boats?? Can you store it at a dock/harbour safely without it getting nicked??

Ideally i'ld like a dinghy big enough to fit atleast two people but I wouldnt mind those small dinghies if I can get one for cheap and find a place to safely store it...

Dun Laoghaire Harbour (www.dlharbour.ie) have a boat yard where you can store your boat for a fee. annual or sailing season permits are available AFAIK
