Hoping to lose 2 stone

Hi all, I am looking to get down to about 11 stone from my current weight of 13 stone. I have filled in my details on various websites to see what my daily calorie intake should be and to lose weight it is recommended I take in about 1400 calories. Now here is the problem, after reading various articles and the stickies here on boards I seem to be confusing myself regarding good fats, bad fats eating late and not eating late etc. If I may give you some information about myself, my diet and how I exercise maybe some of the more informed people can help me out.
Firstly I am male, 5' 7", aged 33 and current weight is 13 stone.
For exercise I go mountain biking every sunday for 2-3 hours at least and on monday I play astroturf for about an hour and a half. Unfortunately thats all the decent exercise I get for the week.
    So now then my diet:

    BREAKFAST 7.30 AM
2 SLICES OF WHOLEGRAIN BREAD WITH A LITTLE BUTTER
    2 BOILED EGGS
    GLASS OF WATER

    10 AM SNACK
    1 APPLE
    GLASS OF WATER

    12 AM BREAK
    2 SLICES OF WHOLEGRAIN BREAD
    1 BANANA
ORGANIC PEANUT BUTTER SPREAD ON THE BREAD
    GLASS OF WATER

    2 PM SNACK
    APPLE OR BANANA OR ORANGE
    GLASS OF WATER

    3PM BREAK
    A SANDWICH CONSTING OF;
    2 SLICES OF WHOLEGRAIN BREAD,
    LETTUCE,
    RED ONION,
    2 SLICES TURKEY,
    1 SLICE OF CHICKEN
    GLASS OF WATER

    5PM SNACK
    GRAPES OR NUTS
    GLASS OF WATER

    7-8 PM DINNER
4 POTATOES WITH A LITTLE BUTTER
EITHER A SMALL PORTION OF TINNED PEAS OR BEANS.
ONE OF FISH, CHICKEN, BACON, LAMB
AS MANY TURNIPS,CARROTS, GREEN BEANS, SWEETCORN,
    MUSHROOMS, MIXED VEG
    2 GLASSES OF WATER

    10PM SNACK
BOWL OF NATURAL YOUGART WITH GRAPES,APPLE,BANANA,HONEY
    GLASS OF WATER

I do this every day mon-fri as it is structured regarding work and breaks etc. but the weekends I don't do as well because we are usually out and tend to just grab whatever for lunch and dinner. Also when I go mountain biking I eat maybe 2-3 chocolate bars.
Is this diet any good for me and what kind of calories would it be bearing in mind I should only take in about 1400 every day. Thanks for looking.

    Way too much bread.

Have one slice with breakfast, one at your 12pm break and make a salad instead of your sandwich at 3pm. MAybe halve your potato intake too

You don't need to go down to 1400 calories, even if you dropped to 1800-2000 calories you'd lose approx a pound a week

1400 you'd be starving all the time at your current weight

man you are wayyyyyyyy over 1,400 cals if thats what you are aiming for (even if thats too low) but seriously do you really need to eat at 10,12,2,3,5,7pm?

Its just wayyyy to much of everything and cut back to eating every 3-4hrs.

Yes the bread (swap to oatcakes) and potatoes (swap for sweet potatoes/butternut squash) is an obvious one but on a fundamental level you are just eating farr to many meals (8 blooming meals in a day!!)which is just bumping up that total calorie intake in a big way and your body hasent even digested the previous meal and you are putting more food in.

someone could work it out but the 10pm 'snack' must be at least 300cals with all that fruit and yogurt.

A snack for me is 2-3 squares of dark chocolate and i am a quite lean 14st and extemely active

Hope that helps and start eating for the body and weight you want to be NOT the weight you are

Thanks for the replies lads. I will reduce the bread like bottle of smoke recommended and also will cut done on the actual meals as transform suggested.

Why be such a smart arse? You have a similar number of posts as I have but at least I have the cop on not to go and wreck threads by posting stupid meaningless replies. Grow up a little, and have some respect please.

Ah come on, an apple is not a meal!

Have you actually counted up the calories though? That's waay over 1400.

You should be eating more than 1400 but less than what you are actually eating now lol.

2 potatoes is a big portion.. 4 is giant. Unless you mean baby potatoes?

Also lot of bread. Swap one of the bready meals for porridge or a salad

Hi all, I am looking to get down to about 11 stone from my current weight of 13 stone. Firstly I am male, 5' 7", aged 33 and current weight is 13 stone.

I'm 28, 5'7 and was 14.5 stone (92kg). I am at 66kg at the moment (10.5 stone) and to be honest I could go down to 10 stone quite easily. In fact I probably will. See where you are at when you reach 11 stone though.
I seem to be confusing myself regarding good fats, bad fats eating late and not eating late etc. If I may give you some information about myself, my diet and how I exercise maybe some of the more informed people can help me out.

There is only one type of bad fat - hydrogenated/trans fat. All other types of fat, including saturated fats, are not "bad" provided you don't over-eat.

During fat loss, eating fat is actually helpful because it fills you up for longer and you end up eating less in general. The things to avoid, in my experience, are carbs such as baguettes and potatos. Not because they are inherently fattening (nothing is inherently fattening) but because they don't keep you full for long.

As for eating late at night: it is perfectly fine to eat late at night. It will NOT make you gain weight and those who tell you that it will don't know what they're talking about. The ONLY thing that determines whether or not you gain weight is excessive calorie consumption over an extended period (a few days to a week).

Nothing else matters with regard to weight gain/loss.

I advise you to watch these trustworthy videos:

Jesus, I'm only having a laugh. Good luck with the weight loss.

I assumed he was giving his current diet so people could improve on it. Wish everyone who posts up asking how to lose weight would do that!
