Saving saved games

So I was playing Bioshock on my laptop until something happened, something bad. The run.exe or whatever runs the game disappeared from my computer So I had to uninstall the game and re-install it. But I was smart, or hopeful.

I saved my saved games folder before I uninstalled it but I'm not really sure where to put them to make them work again. Is it as straightforward as copying and pasting them into a hidden folder deep within the bowels of the game or do I have to reconfigure the database of the interface. Just kidding, I don't know what that means. I saved a new game but can't seem to find where it is.

If there is an answer please make it as simple as possible, I have a moderate knowledge of computers, moderately low that is.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Game saves are sometimes saved in "your name" documents folder under the games name.
Did you look there for the saves?
Most times, yes - copying them back to similar works if you have installed the game first and did one standard save.

For Bioshock the savegames are just saved in your Documents folder in a subfolder called "Bioshock" according to a quick google, so you shouldn't really have to do anything after reinstalling the game, they'll just be there...

Is your antivirus AVG by any chance? That kept deleting my Bioshock executable:mad:
