With a MHEG5 Saorview compatable TV I am in situ I am looking into combo boxes for the other room, has anyone got one of these boxes in use ?

Reviews I have read seem to be old - 2 years+, so would welcome feedback from anyone who has recently acquired one of these boxes

I've an Mvision 200 combo. It works fine on Saorview, receiving RTE Two HD and downscaling it to SCART. No MHEG, though, so if this is important to you, then wait a while or purchase a Saorview compliant receiver.

I had no issues with it while connected via SCART to a bedroom TV. Worked excellently as a multi-satellite receiver, driving a motorised dish. Terrestrial fine (no analogue tuner) with EBU teletext.

Using HDMI to a HD TV, the picture quality is good, but I had issues when using a long (5m) HDMI lead. The clock used to go slow, losing 30 minutes each hour:eek:, and I would get messages on-screen saying "CAM Initialising" on occasions. With a shorter lead connected directly to the TV it was more stable, but occasional CAM messages would appear. I found it a bit flaky on recording, sometimes not recording the entire programme when marked in the EPG. When recording HD the picture would occasionally stop or the sound would go out of sync.

Other folks (inc gtg60) did not have the same level of problems, though. If you can get it real cheap then it's worth a go, but newer receivers with USB recording are available.
