First leg result was a one-nil home win for Braga.

If we start with a fast enough pace and maintain it we should come through. They are only an average side I think but a similar paerformance to the first leg and we will be out.
Any kind of a 2-0 win will do nicely.

    Liverpool to progress.

Just hope Dalglish picks as an attacking side as posssible, better give it a proper go than try and sneak it (if you can sneak 2-0/3-1!).

Only noticed now that Braga have Mary holding the baby Jesus on their crest, don't they know that Fowler is God?

I'm not convinced we will progress, but I really hope we do. If we have a positive attacking attitude I think we should do it anyhow, but positive and attacking is not a certainty at Anfield anymore with some very underwhelming performances over the last while.

Looking at the team, with no Gerrard and no Suarez and Carroll on the bench, I have to say I'm a bit worried.

Keeping a clean sheet early doors is a must as it could be a killer blow to go one down and need 3.

Really all in the balance, almost a 50/50 shout imo. I think we're a better team but Braga are no mugs and they've beaten some top opposition this year, and tend to get themselves up for big games.

Very hard to call, but I'll go for Liverpool to progress, just...

Sorry, I should say the squad.

BBC Sport say Carroll will likely start on the bench, they tend to be right about these things.

Braga shall be crushed. Driven to the slaughter before the baying crowds. The air will echo with the sound of lamentation from their women.

They shall learn the riddle of steel, by Crom they will.

    woops!

glad to see him start anyway

Hopefully it's Wilson left back, rather than Johnson left back and Carra right back with Wilson in the centre. It's painful to watch Carra full back.

Encouraging team selection though, I feared having Poulsen and/or Spearing in there.

Great to see Pacheco on the bench over Jovanovic. Here's hoping we get comfortable enough to bring him on.

    Liverpool 2-0
    Thank god poulsens not on

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 43,311 ✭✭✭✭K-9

Maybe a 4-2-3-1, with Meireles partnering Lucas but with licence to go forward. Probably about as attacking a team we could go with.

Subs: Gulacsi, Ngog, Pacheco, Kyrgiakos, Spearing, Poulsen, Flanagan.

A bit underwhelming to say the least.

Somebody saing 4-2-2-2 on Twitter, can't see it.

And Kaka wasn't picked for Braga, scared of Carrol!

I'd say when we aren't in possession. When we have Lucas will probably stay back a lot and let Meireles forward.

Can't see a 4-2-2-2, it leaves Cole and Maxi as the AM's!

If Pacheco isn't brought on tonight, he probably never will be.

I can see Carroll causing havoc tonight and getting two goals.

I'd say 4-2-3-1 Lucas and Meireles in the middle

Jovanovic must be really bad if he has played less games than Poulsen since Kenny arrived.

You'd probably take him over Maxi too.

He's far more important than Maxi. Maxi should be made clean his kit and do his homework.
