Rush Limbaugh laughs at the Japanese tsunami.

Everytime I hear this fat cretin open his waffle-basket, I want to punch him in the mouth. In his latest tirade, he laughed and passed jokes about the Japanese tsunami. How this guy still makes the airwaves is beyond me.

I can't say what i'd like to say about him, the most appropriate for boards i can do is ignorant moron.
The Japanese have done a lot for the environment, they've given us the prius

Only an American would use that as their prime example.

    Asshole.

Limbaugh is only a mouthpiece. The real tragedy is that he's representative of a large portion of the US population.

That was aimed at Limbaugh, who obviously didn't understand it - and not at a rationally minded person. You obviously missed that.

yeah but he's Rush Limbaugh, jokes on him

Self-righteous democratic bullsh1t. Cenk gives right-wingers like O'Reilly and Limbaugh a run for their money. Great to see they can't rise above this kind of political point-scoring garbage either. They're as bad as each other.

I frequently laugh at the likes of Limbaugh. He makes a living off other's misery and misfortunes, he thinks the marginalised are fair game. How can you not laugh at an imbecile like this?

He's vile and completely distasteful in everything he does. He's not a credible political commentator. He should just be ignored. Thankfully we don't have to deal with him in this part of the world.

Point scoring is one thing, but I don't remember Cenk poking fun at the loss of life. That's where they differ.

I'm laughing at his wanton ignorance and desperate bid to be controversial and bait the liberals. There is a difference, laughing at him rather than with him.

    I find this thread interesting.

Why, because I was in my car, yesterday, listening to this very segment, in context. You know, not out of context. Driving down HWY 78. He was actually mocking an ABC report which took astonishment that the Japanese had the herewithall to establish recycling bins in the wake of the disaster.

    http://abcnews.go.com/WNT/video/staying-strong-face-tragedy-13135898?tab=9482930&section=1206853&playlist=13136135&page=1

Limbaugh's Segment was all about mocking her, "It's Recycaling!" quote. You can see it in the clip above. Rush likened her astonishment to saying that she would compliment a beach house resident for keeping the lights off for the Sea Turtles, if that home was experiencing a blackout.

tl;dr MSNBC is taking it out of context and getting it completely wrong. I have no sympathy for Rush but it only validates him to make up dirt about him. Theres plenty of reasons to disagree with him that dont involve underhanded tactics.

In fairness, you can't take what he said out of context. He was quite clearly making light of the disaster. What he said is condemnable. It doesn't matter if he was responding to the recycling piece on ABC. It's his wording and his sneering that is condemnable.

Yes, you really can take what he said out of context, its very easy to do. And having listened to his broadcast that same day within those same 20 minutes, I'm telling you: it has been.

You can defend him all you like - I heard his words. They were very clear. He's poking fun at the misfortune of the Japanese, even if it is in response to a recycling story by ABC.

Feel pity for Rush, he's so lame he can only get his jollies from kicking someone when they're down. All in the name of "humour".

if anything with the prius remark he is mocking the caller, and I don't know how he keeps a straight face at the hippy reference to "Gaia"

I think you're looking to be offended, frankly.

Nope, it's still offensive. And I'm not looking to "be offended". I came across the video from a link on facebook. It wasn't as if I woke up this morning and search youtube for Rush Limbaugh making fun of Japanese people.

What he said is offensive. He's a bigot, a loud-mouth and shouldn't be on national media.

Not saying that at all, only that you prefer MSNBC's narrative. MSNBC which is more or less the anti-thesis to Limbaugh and Beck; on the far left. Did you ever watch Keith Olberman stink up a room before they kicked him out? Not because he was an asshole mind you but because he made political contributions without asking his manager for permission first.

Plenty of instances of Limbaugh being an asshole, this wasn't one of them.

I haven't listened to the clip but if this transcript is what he said then he is just a d1ck (so is Olberman btw), hiding behinig a natural disater to discredit opponents. To make matters worse he will also claim to be a christian.

RUSH: My god, she sounds like she saw her husband for the first time in six months there. Oh, it's recycling, look, organized for -- these people are in the midst of earthquake devastation and the credit they're getting is for recycling and our caller Chris with a great question. The Japanese have done so much to save the planet. He's right. They've given us the Prius. Even now, refugees are still recycling their garbage, and yet Gaia levels them [laughs], just wipes them out. Wipes out their nuclear plants, all kinds of radiation. What kind of payback is this? That is an excellent question. They invented the Prius. In fact, where Gaia blew up is right where they make all these electric cars. That's where the tsunami hit. All those brand new electric cars sitting there on the lot. I like the way this guy was thinking. It's like -- it's like Gaia hit the Prius in [inaudible]. It's like they were in the crosshairs, if we can use that word, it does. What is Gaia trying to tell us here? What is the mother of environmentalism trying to say with this hit? Great observation out there, Chris

The problem with Limbaugh and a lot of these Right-Wing twats is that a large portion of their audience is liberals listening to hear what nonsense he'll spout next.

It's threads like these that make me question the intelligence of the users on Boards. No wonder this country is so f**ked.

Even if guys like O'Reilly and Limbaugh get big ratings, it doesn't mean that's because Americans rely on them as their news source. They are like Eamon Dunphy here, they get watched because they a sh!t stirrers, it's merely entertainment.

If people come out in reply to this to say, it should be but Americans do rely on it as their news...get over yourself. You are generalizing, American people have the internet and multiple other news sources to choose from.

Why did I know before i played that, somewhere in there he would mention Islam? He is very worried about the Islamic Caliphate/NWO conspiracy theory these days.

The thing is I've heard so much of Beck's outrageousness that I'm not really shocked at anything he says at this point.

If Americans disagree with the views of Limburgh etc, they should do the right thing and boycott his shows.
Until they do that, it is reasonable to assume that there is a constituency in America who endorse Limburgh and his odious views.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 86,729 ✭✭✭✭Overheal

Boycott? Nah. Some people like hearing the other side of the polyhedron every once in a while. However on the bright side many advertisers have already refused for instance to be involved with Glenn Beck's FOX news program: some will still advertise with the network on the condition they arent aired when his show is. And his ratings are tanking all the same, but I think that has more to do with his steady detachment from reality.
    RichieC wrote: »

That implies they have any real authority. But here as well as over there (you can swap the here and the there around however you like) people are free to disagree. In a real dictatorship you do not: even if you disagree you fall in line or else. Rush and Beck's viewership/ratings for instance shouldn't be taken as a direct straw poll of people who actually agree with them.

much like O'reilly and Fox in general, they have the older non internet using demographic, people just don't listen to radio and TV as much anymore, so if you can corner the Boomers market who are heading into retirement your ratings will be fabulous (comparatively) and you can claim to speak for the majority..

Look up the average age of Fox viewers and Rush listeners.

think it's like 65 and up.
