She'll fly the same interchanging route all the other 320's fly

God yes, the line of the black around the nose does age it. You will probably get passengers refusing to get on that old thing.

Looks great. Thought the Shamrock on the engine cowling might have been bigger.

Personally I would have liked the titles a bit larger but EI/Airbus went with correct livery rather than changing it. (I got to see the Airbus proposed images last year) In the 50s/60s titles were smaller on airliners.

I have it on good authority that this exact image was given to the CEO about a year ago along with the retro livery suggestion. It was later used by the CEO in a briefing to staff about the plan to have -DVM delivered in 1 of these liveries. (A mate was at the briefing last July)

    Not going to be airside?

Tempted to head over to Pier D,watch her taxi around to the hangar. I'm assuming as a new aircraft she'll be sent to the hangar first to be given the once over by EI and EI paraphernalia added before she see's service.

Where will be best to view her coming in? The longterm carpark on the old airport road? or somewhere else?!

I would hazard the mound near the long term car park would be best as this covers both approaches to the main runway. Sounds like it will be quite busy today though!

Plan is currently unchanged for the arrival of EI-DVM later today. Leaving TLS 1700 local, arriving DUB 1800 local. Lets hope someone at the mound has a radio to give a heads up.

EDIT: for squonk- As the aircraft will have been handed over to EI it will be legally flown as EI-DVM. It only has a test F-xxxx reg until Airbus relinquish ownership of it. Its not a scheduled flight so doesn't show on the DAA arrivals web page.

Will she carry EI-DVM identification? Those with iPhones could use an iPhone app called PlaneFinder to track her approaching while they're out watching.

if I have anymore details during the day of exact arrival I'll post.....

I got a message from one of the EI engineers bringing her to Dublin and he's said they should be in between 1830 - 1900.

from the other forum I saw. That the poster in the other forum said that he found the flight from Flight explorer. the flight number is EI2533 expected to arrive at 17.53

Just a heads up,they've been using 10 all day and were still using it when i left an hour ago. Can't see them changing it for the rest of the day unless there's a dramatic shift in the wind(not forecast that i can see).

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,943 ✭✭✭Tropheus

Hope they stay using 10. It will mean a better view from the mound rather than see it turn off the runway in the distance.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,561 ✭✭✭andy_g

So roughly what time is she coming in going to head up to see her arrive but going to be on public transport and a bit of a walk :( or do buses head down ti the 10 end?

It could be between 17:45 to 19:00. You could get 83 Dublin bus which bring you to the end of runway 10.

    83 bus timetable http://www.dublinbus.ie/en/your-journey1/timetables/all-timetables/83/
