I'll offer 600 subject to inspection. Can collect in Dublin anytime.

    Why are you selling it?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 437 ✭✭fran83

Subject to that offer u won't b inspecting it.selling it to get a crank based system need it for racing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,315 ✭✭✭chakattack

If you're racing I assume it's seen plenty of miles over 9 months and through the winter so 60% of retail price is fair.

I can get a new elite+ wheel for 750 with full 12 month warranty. 200g heavier but weight doesn't matter for a training wheel.

    I'll offer 650 max.

I only use it for training! The wheel is well looked after. Something like that does not loose it value like your talking about. The Elite+ May only be 750 new but the bearing are not as good different axel not the same wheel. All you need to do is replace the bearing with ceramic and you can have an SLC without the carbon bit on the hub!!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,315 ✭✭✭chakattack

Of course a wheel loses value over time - the rim is a consumable item and bearings are subject to wear. My point is that if you race, your wheels see relatively high mileage compared to people who commute or go on sunday spins.

Unfortunately everything loses a good chunk of it's retail value when sold secondhand and 60% is about the norm here - I've suffered the same myself on virtually unused items.

I'm prepared to pay 650 but it doesn't make sense for me to go any higher when I can get a new and unused albeit heavier version for 750 with a full 12 month warranty. It'll be for training so weight and bearing smoothness don't matter to me. These wheels are heavy b*st*rds anyway so 200g off a lot is still a lot.

Good luck with you new wheel with a 12 month warrenty! Because I am not parting with mine for 650 euro!

    http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=63639

Here is the elite for 967 so if your getting it for 750 id go buy it!

Are you going to use it for racing?

Training and racing until I can afford Zipps or Cosmics with a PT hub.
