    Hello all,

Just looking to see what people think of strength training twice a week. One day after the next. I cant make to a gym only on Saturday and Sunday. I will do two others day with KB/BW sessions and one day easy run. What do people think it is only for 6 months.

    cheers

For a few months there i was doing a heavy squat and DL day back to back.

    DLs on Friday
    Squats on saturday

It was low volume high intensity on both days.

So basically pulling for 1 heavy set (singles/doubles/triples) and squatting to a 5RM or 3RM

i was doing reasonably high volume high pulls on the friday too, with some fluff

On the saturday i was working up to a fairly high % for one top set, then doing ramp up 5s on GMs or straight sets depending on the week/how i felt.

I'm just using this as an example of what i did, and didn't die.

But like, i do it all the time anyway.

You could cycle the two presses week by week, using one as the assistance for the other every week.

Personally i'd pull the first day and squat the second. But if you're doing straight sets across or reps with the DL your lower back could be fubar'd by the Saturday.

Obviously if you've a week to recover you could hit it hard on the second day.

To be honest it really boils down to recovery........

If you're squatting, deadlifting and benching then I'd squat and deadlift in the same session and bench the next day or deadlift and bench then squat the next day but vary the volume and intensity.

With doing 2 in one session have one as your heavy, intense, lift and the other more volume/repetition based.

Nothing wrong with it. Just work different body parts. If your looking to work the entire body you can split it between say upper and lower body. Keep the intensity high, rests to no more than 60 seconds between sets and total workout time to 1 hour max.

Do the upper one day and the lower the next.

Upper - chest, back, shoulders, biceps, triceps (work from larger to smaller muscle groups)

Lower - Quads, hams, calfs, do abs on this day to balance it out....

Well it's not ideal, but if those are the only days you can make it, then you'll just have to make do.
