    Yoinked from another website! :pac:

As per title, have you ever walked out of a movie mid way? I haven't done it myself but was seriously thinking about it when I went to see Guillvers Travels and I even got into that movie for free!! Awful, awful film. I've always been weary of any "comedy" with Jack Black in it, never taking that chance again!

Yes once, but can't remember now which one it was, it was that memorable. Good few years ago. Might have been that Wild Wild West thing with Will Smith.

I never have. No matter how bad the film is. It's more out of stubbornness than anything. "I've paid for this I'm not leaving" mentality.

Walked out've "Bright Young Things". Twas directed by Stephen Fry and was an absolute steaming pile of horseshít. Luckily it was only like €4 in cause I saw it in Stillorgan.

seen half the audience leave a film called Happiness years ago
    (this one http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0147612/)

directly after a scene involving philip seymour hoffman having a peddle and crank :D

    Only twice.
First time was Euro Trip. Got a free ticket so didn't really mind.
Second one was The Invention of Lying. I love Gervais normally but this was an awful movie. Couldn't stand it.

Yeah, once. Driller Killer. But it was after another 5 movies that day as part of a horror festival. Just couldn't take the noise at 1am, being absolutely exhausted.

I walked out of "get him to the greek"
I knew it would be bad enough but I thought it might at least be mildly entertaining
    That's the only one

Yeah, I have actually. I think it might have been Sherlock Holmes, but I can't really remember. All I know is that whatever it was, it was fuckin' painful and there was no way in hell I could sit there any longer. I was with one of the girls I used to work with and 2 of the guys. The 2 lads stayed, they thought it was great!

Alice in Wonderland. Woeful stuff. Starting to despise Tim Burton films.

    Blair Witch Project 2.

Men in Black 2..a sequel too far. Johhny Knoxville tipped me over the edge.

Never walked out of a movie but have fallen asleep a few times. Fell asleep during Iron Man and also Sweeney Todd (the latter of which I actually liked).

The biggest walk out I've ever seen was for Dogville. Audience was about 20 at the start and was down to around 6 by the end.

I'd have stayed for that one.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

Hudson Hawk, and considering there were only 3 people watching at the time we felt a little guilty leaving one poor guy on his own who looked at us with a 'save me' plea. Just a mish mash of awfulness.

Always wondered did he stick it out for the last hour.

White Chicks. Was screen hopping so didn't realise until it started. Woeful.

City of Angles with Nicky Cage, the film I wanted to see was full so popped into that instead, life is just too short to waste with that drivel.

Also Hollow Man with Kevin Bacon, utterly woeful film.

No, i'm of the mentality that since I paid for the movie, it would be a waste to leave during the middle of the movies.

Luckily I've been fortunate enough to see movies that i've always found adequate enough to stay through.

Walked out, not that i can remember.
Some of my better naps have been in the cinema though.

The only ones that I would have walked out on were:

    Closer
But I thought the boyfriend was enjoying it and the boyfriend thought I was enjoying it and we both sat there miserable watching a crappy film that we both REALLY wanted to walk out on but didn't want to wreck the others head

    The Edge of Darkness
Different boyfriend, similar scenario. Actually he wouldn't have walked out because he couldn't be bothered climbing over people (the cinema was jam packed) but it was so difficult to stay there and sit through it.

Actually I did walk out of Pirates of the Carribean 3 but we went to the bar in the cinema, had a drink, poured some more wine into empty coke cups and went back in to watch the end of it (all our friends had stayed, only two of us had gone out). We're knackers, I know.

I left Alien II thought it was such rubbish, I left my bf there and sat out in the foyer talking to the staff.

Also tried to leave King Kong but since was there minding a group of children from my football club I couldnt really but I stood at the door playing games on my phone instead and that way could make sure none of them left.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,644 ✭✭✭cml387

The Killing of a Chinese Bookie.

Walked out after 1 and a half hours (there was apparently another three quarters of an hour to go).

How could a film set in a strip joint be so utterly boring

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,381 ✭✭✭fakearms123

I walked out of Max Payne, choose better films Marky Mark! The Happening?? come on Mark! Your better than that!

I walked out of Americian Psycho years ago, the film was too violent and it was tough watching it as I was there on a first date.
Needless to say we didn't see each other again

No, extreme violence and first dates aren't a good mix :)
