right well the first one is, on my toshiba laptop (vista) when it goes into hibernation or sleep, and i turn it back on, it loses my broadband connection? (eircom) any ideas on how to fix this?
and secondly, though it may not belong here, i have a hp photosmart printer but can never be guaranteed it'll print when i want it to. most of the time it wont print until the next time you turn on the laptop?
    thank you

Is it a wired or wireless connection you have the problem with? If wired, disconnect before hibernating - a few users at work have reported similar issues and this has usually sorted them out.

For printing, a good thing to try before rebooting is to just restart the print spooler. You can do this either from the services console (start > services.msc > Right-click and select "Run As Administrator" > find "Print Spooler" service and restart) or by opening an elevated command prompt and using "net stop spooler" followed by "net start spooler". If this solves the problem, create a text file with the two commands and save on your desktop as spooler.bat or something like that, and just run it (as administrator) any time your printer acts up.

i thought that was one of the issues fixed by the service pack 1 or 2?
