    Hi folks,

My next show has been christened and anointed with the sweet smelling balm of a top professional bout. Under Siege 3 will take place in Whitehall Colmcille GAA Club on Friday, May 20th.

A full fight card will follow, but here's the key details-

    Welterweight Prestige Bout:

Cathal "The Punisher" Pendred (SBGi) versus Richard Gorey (Pedro Bessa) 77kg welterweight

I actually booked this fight for The Fight Before Christmas II but it never came about. So I'm delighted to finally get this one on a card.

A full undercard will follow so stay tuned to this channel.

The other news is that this show will cost just €20 per ticket. At least it will for the moment though this temporary insanity may pass and then I'll put the price back up.

Other details- Referee is Dave Jones, judges will be independent, full bar and of course, fights fights fights.

If you have fighters who you'd like to put on this show contact me now. NOW!

    Barry

I think that's where the inspiration came from alright.

Hope to finally put a face to the name Scud :D

    AH!!!
Really thought for a second that Steven Segal was coming to show us all some MMA skillz! He did teach Anderson Silva how to KO Vitor Belfort you know!:D

Nice pro fight there too by the way!;)

I can almost guarantee that Steven Seagal will be there in the flesh. 99% sure he'll answer my hundreds of emails and make the trip. Probably best to bring your autograph books just in case.

Barry I hear you taught segal the front kick and he then taught anderson so really in a way you are the middleweight UFC champ

Almost true, almost. I actually learned it from Seagal, then taught it back to him after I invented it again. Then he invented it. Again.

Fighters and fights coming in thick and fast now. Please contact me with anyone you have available.

    Megaweight match up

James Kernan Whiteman (SBGi) versus Paul Walsh (Xtreme) HW

James Kernan-Whiteman takes this amateur-bout after his impressive-debut at Battlezone-2, and with his impressive-hyphenated-double-barrel-moniker may be-one to watch-for the-future. He takes on Paul Walsh from Xtreme, who may need more than words to get the better of his opponent.

    Flyweight match up

Grant Carroll (IPMMA) versus Keith Coady (SBGi)

Coady's striking has been impressive in his two bouts so far but with a background in boxing Carroll will be no slouch on his feet either. Coady showed his submission skills at Cage Contender, Carroll showed his ground skills at Battlezone. I have nothing else to write except that this will be an exciting fight between two young guys.

Also, neither of their names lend themselves easily to cheap puns.

    Grant "Christmas" Carrol maybe?:D
    He is very white.

But awesome match up there Barry. Lookin forward to that one.

    Lightweight Amateur Class C -70.2kgs
Joe Mady (IPMMA) vs. Shane Lanigan (Point Blank Submissions)

Bit of confusion in the run up to this bout. Joe stepped in, then Shane stepped out again. Then Shane stepped in and Joe stepped out again*. But it's finally confirmed and these two debutantes will take a bow on May 20th.

    * honestly, did anyone get this gag?

    Middleweight amateur Class C -84kgs
Shane "Dirty Harry" Callaghan (Pedro Bessa) vs. Konrad Iwanawski (Team Ryano)

Two of Ireland's top Brazilian Jiu Jitsu clubs, and I can bet good money this will be a slugfest. That always happens.

Misfortunatively, Cathal Pendred has withdrawn from this card due to another commitment. I've no doubt I'll find a replacement forthwith...

    In other news...
    Lightweight Amateur Class C -70.2kgs
Anesh Bugwandeen (IPMMA) vs. Darragh Harte (Rush)

I kind of accidentally spoiled this by accidentally copying and pasting it into the last post, but here it is anyway... so... em... TA DA! Anesh Bugwandeen pits his skills and his tongue-twisting name against Harte, who shares a name with the 5th member of the Planeteers. But will he be able to use the power of his ring to beat Bugwandeen?

I'm delighted to announce that the official sponsor of Under Siege 3 will be Olimp. Olimp provide all of my fighters with their supplement needs, and they'll be showing their range of sports supplementation at the show.

Please note that patrons of Under Siege 3 are advised to take care of their personal possessions at all times.

In totally unrelated news, a man from Ballymun is on the card...

    Welterweight Amateur Class C -77.2kgs
Dermot Kavanagh (Primal) vs. Philip Maher (Ryano)

Since both fighters are coming from striking backgrounds, you'd expect this to be a stand up war, but maybe that's just what they want us to think... find out more at Under Siege 3, May 20th...

    ... den den DEEEEEEENNNNNN.

    Welterweight Amateur Class C -77.2kgs
Aleksantras Akimovas (Xtreme) vs Gary Mannion (Point Blank Submissions)
Dan Incognito is revealed! And also, I found out Alex's real name. So this mystery pairing finally have names. Should be a good match up between two debutantes at this level.

    Featherweight Amateur Class C -65.8kgs

Conor Hughes (Kyuzo) vs Blaine O’Driscoll (Lucan MMA)
I think Blaine should change his name to Blaze. This will be a good fight from 2 young guys. Hughes making his debut and O'Driscoll with a fight already under his belt.
