Pretty much what it says in teh title... If - for whatever reason - your team couldn't win teh EPL this season who would you like to see win it? City to shake up the "big 4"? Man Utd to seal number 19? Arsenal as a victory for the beautiful game? Chelsea because... Well I'm sure there must be a reason :p

So to be clear you CANNOT VOTE FOR THE TEAM YOU SUPPORT! So who would you like to see win this years title?

Who would you like to see win the EPL apart from your own team? 148 votes

It changes from season to season. This season; Arsenal.

    Citeh, for the lulz.

Chelsea, cos they've less fans to annoy me about it.

    Manchester City
Chances are slim to nil, but they're better than Liverpool's and I don't want any of the top 3 to win, so Chelsea by default for me

    Manchester City
    Chelsea from that list.

Losing to Arsenal is much tougher because we'll be battling them in 50 years time. Chelsea on the other hand will eventually fade away once the owner loses interest. Arsenal on the other hand, we'll be fighting for years. It's the same with Liverpool.

    City obviously ****ing not.

    ***

However, in real terms, the team I'd like to win the league if it wasn't United is Spurs. I really like Spurs. Good philosophy. Good solid well run club. Based on the fans. Focused on the fans. Nice football. No assholes. Earned their position the proper way. Investment in youth. Investment in players. Revenues from fans. None of this sugar daddy ****. All in all, a good club worthy of a title.

Arsenal for me, I like pretty much every aspect of Wengers approach to management and I think it deserves to be rewarded. I like watching them play too, they're fantastic to watch on a good day.

    Chelsea
    Easily Arsenal

    Chelsea
I'd be surprised if United get any votes in this. Pretty much hated by everyone who doesn't support them.

I went for Arsenal because they're the only ones who are fun to watch out of that bunch.

Poll really needs the full 20 teams though. Mind you, I'd probably still pick Arsenal

    Chelsea
Arsenal because they are the only one capable of winning bar Utd imo. Otherwise Man City, just to observe the shitstorm it would cause! :p

    Chelsea
First Arsenal, they are on balance playing the nicest football, City for the sheer laughs that would follow. Spurs would be nice in one way - a fresh name like City but Harry would be unbearable afterwards. As would Berba!

Arsenal, although I can't wait for the day when City win it.

    Manchester United
It's pained me to watch Chelsea and United easily carve up the last 6 or titles between them, making us look pedestrian at the same time. Purely for those reasons and the fact they're the only other option - City.

im a liverpool fan so i kinda hate arsenal and city the least and its a tough call.

but id rather arsenal as they play sxc football.

anyway its ours next season ;)

Leeds fan, and I'd much rather have Arsenal win it than anyone else. City behind them for comedy value.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,784 ✭✭✭#15

Utd fan, would rather Chelsea to win it.
Their fans are the least annoying IMO.

Like PHB though, I would prefer Spurs over any of the ones listed in the poll.

Where is the don't care option? For me whoever wins it deserves it and I wouldn't be shouting for any of them.

    Chelsea
Arsenal, and it's not even close.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

Voted for Man Utd, dont want to lose it to a London rival and not to City either.

Also if United win the take the out right lead of league titles and that would p*ss off the 'Pool brigade no end so thats another reason :P

Hmmmm tricky one, well not really!

If Arsenal win it, we'll never hear the end of it from all the loved up journos, going on about Wengers way is the right way, saviours of football, spent no money blah blah, self righteous, pompous - yuk NOooooooooooooo!

Couldnt stand it if Man City win it, splashing their cash around like the hot new lady of the night holsting up her petticoats, shameless I tell thee!
Love to seem them finish 5th actually just to see the melt down if they didnt make the CL again after billions of cash!

    (Kettle-pot-black as I am a CHELSEA fan!)

    Man U
    Just NO!

So, I pick Liverpool, even though they care just way too much and take it all so seriously, but you have to love them just cos I'm an 80's fan

    From that list? Probably Chelsea.

I'd go for Tottenham ahead of any of the choices on the poll. Probably not realistic to think they could win it, but they'll be there or there abouts the Champions League spots again this season.

You don't have to read what the journo's say tbh.

I despise all what Chelsea stands for. Even as kid them and Hammers I hated with passion. City for me are like your annoying little brother they do things to try and piss you off but you always end up beating them and putting egg in their face everytime and kind feel sorry for it but at same time gloating to them that they are just small ones.

I pick Arsenal out of that bunch even down the years we have had some mighty battles but they play a brand of football that is class to watch and their support is much better then other two.

Blackpool for me, best footballing team to watch this season.

Went with Arsenal. Villa and Everton are the two EPL teams I like to see do well but theres not much chance of either challenging in the foreseeable future. Quite like Spurs too.

Arsenal easily from that list. Great manager and an admirable philosophy in the way the club is run. City and Chelsea are just too tasteless and new money for my liking.

I would want City to win it only their manager has acted disgracefully by blatantly not trying to win games. I dont like United purely because of Rooney, Chelsea are starting to bore me, so i will go for Arsenal by default.

I picked Arsenal as it'd be nice to see them triumph for a change. Chelsea have had already won in recent years.....

Tbh, anyone but United (there I said it!!!):p

    Chelsea
Arsenal purely for the way they approach the game, encourage younger players, play good football,a manager that moans as much as Fergie.

To see City or Pool win it would basically mean moving to the moon to avoid the storm...Chelsea come second as they are not as bad as City or Pool but not as deserving as Arsenal

With that poll, it would have to be the team with the best squad, Chelsea all the way.

In reality I would love it if Newcastle won a title, just to see what the reaction of their fans would be if they actually won something.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,643 ✭✭✭Father Damo

    Arsenal.

Being honest, with the way an undisputably world class manager like Hodgson got turfed out for a dodgy few months, and the way Torres got treated for "crap" performances, not to mention the reaction from the "fans" when he left for understandable reasons, I truly have fallen out of love with Liverpool. The 3-1 the other day was great but, tbh, Ive fcuk all time for them anymore, their non Scouser born fans have become as bad a bunch of glory hunting fcuks as Man U fans have been since I started noticing the game in the early 90s . Embarrasing. I only ever followed Liverpool because they were the antidote to the Man U fans, who were embarrasing to me in that they carried on like Ing-er-land fans but would boo the England team every tournament (I would too- but I wasnt following a team in a "fcuk the rest were the best" fashion. Also, I wasnt as much of quite a racist as most Man U fans I know....yes, MOST. Lads back in college who despised every black in the class but hero worshipped Cole, Yorke and Rio really reaffirmed my anti Man U opinions as a bunch of mixed up chancers)

It wont happen but one of my best mates here in Syd is Highbury born and bred so cmon Arsenal....even though, as said, they will remain a glorious failure as always.. Couldnt gtive two ****es about Liverpool AKA Man U pt 2 anymore tbh apart from the NW derby- the sh1t that has been said in the last few months about world class managers at Liverpool and injured world class players at Liverpool has been an awakening. I dont wish against them, I dont want to see them relegated, but I dont particularly care either.

Bottom line- Hodgson didnt get fcuk all money, and a chance. The fans pounced on him. Dalglish has had a medicore start bar the Man U thrashing. Populist move, lets see if hes still there in 5 years.

2nd bottom line- to chastise the performances of a player of the calibre of Torres after the shocking times hes had with injury near since about Jan 2010 really sums up what a twat the average football "fan" these days is. These morons have obviously been FIFA on the PS2 too long and think a player can walk back from x months off the pitch and be the business within 2 matches. Pathetic.
