If he had it looking like windows 7(which is truth be told visually appealing), then that would be impressive. Having it look like Windows 98 first edition, is just... wrong.

Ah, there's something to be said for the pre-XP look. Maybe it's just nostalgia.

" Use linux without anyone knowing it!"

I am trying to figure out why ........

It looks like an attempt at a windows theme, but not a very good one, (you can get very convincing windows 7 themes for gnome)

or packages like Macbuntu to look like OS X. I guess it's all fun at the end of the day. I tried stuff like this before, and it's fun until it gets in the way and you start to try things the GUI won't properly emulate (like menus are horrible in Macbuntu), then it's really annoying

Shows power and flexibility of Linux and all the many WM's and DE's :D

Heh, I remind my mam she's using linux every chance I get:

As far as I'm concerned, windows 98 was piece of crap and I certainly don't want to be reminded of it. Why would anyone go back to that when you can have linux mint or kde?

I think you'd want to be pretty dumb not to realize that's not Windows!

Wait until a noob tries installing something :pac:

That's sweet! Can you download it and intall it on your own webserver? I know it's meant to be gimmicky, but if you could do file uploads and downloads on it it could be useful.

My favorite by far is Windows RG Edition.

I like the way the colour scheme in the Word application is the same one used by LibreOffice.

To my eyes, Windows7 looks very much like a rip-off of KDE4 :pac:

In Cavan there was a great fire / Judge McCarthy was sent to inquire / It would be a shame / If the nuns were to blame / So it had to be caused by a wire.

Why would you do that when it was possible to do the following several years ago (original screenshot from Feb 2007 -- blanked some details)

I find it kind of funny that you blocked out some personal info but display your DNA details in your sig :D

The DNA info is fairly generic though, at least 70% of Irish men are R1b-L21, if you go for it's parent group R1b-P312 then that covers 90% of Irish men. I would say my admixture is also fairly standard, though I'm somewhat higher on "West-Asian" component (as result lower on N.European) then most other Irish people in the project (7-12% on average) :D

OT, but how do you find that info out?

An app that runs on Linux called Admixture ;)
    http://www.genetics.ucla.edu/software/admixture/download.html

As for the original question well I spent $99 on getting a genetic test where they test for 1 million markers (SNP's) in your genome. I then submit that raw data to a project called Dodecad. Basically the breakdown is to do with populations where certain markers are more common (modal). So for example people from Sardinia are 96.5% "South European" whereas Lithuanian are 88.7% N.European, Chinese 98.3% East Asian etc.
