    Hi there,

I need to have some stitches removed following an accident on holidays.

Anyone know where I can go to do that? I don't have a GP in Dublin, but I assume I need to go to a hospital anyway?

    Ta.

Most GPs will be able to do it, ring them before you arrive and check to be sure.

You'll be able to walk into any GP's office and get this done pretty quickly.

You can remove them yourself with a pair of scissors, but caution has to be exercised -

If you take them out too early, you risk the wound reopening. If you leave them in a little longer "to be sure", then you risk infection. Your regular GP can do it and if you know him/her well enough they may not even charge you for consultation cos it only takes a second.
