How bad for you is black bean sauce compared to say curry sauce or mayo?

I presume that you are talking about the shop bought stuff. Even then it would really depend on the quality of each of the products & whether they contain preservatives, salt, sugars, dodgy fats, etc., & the percentage of each. It is not a simple comparison such as comparing say, butter & a low fat (allegedly) spread where both have relatively few ingredients & similar percentages across brands.

You'd be best checking out the list of ingredients of each yourself.

A delli on baggot street do great salads and also chicken with black bean sauce.

I'm just wondering how healthy my lunch is.

I'm stumped. No idea how you'd go about comparing the nutritional value of what they put on their chicken compared to other products out there.

Probably a shop bought black bean sauce is mostly fat and sugar, but
the amount of black bean sauce in each portion is probably only a few spoonfuls, so I doubt if it makes much of a difference to the nutritional value of the entire lunch.
What else is in this lunch - chicken and sauce. Is there salad or veg ? If so, is there salad dressing ? Do you eat lots of bread with it ? how big is the portion ? Is the chicken fried in oil ?

    Spinach, Carrots, Pasta, Rice usually.

I was told by the Dr. to watch my cholesterol.
