    Either voluntarily or otherwise.

I once fasted for 24 hours to see what real hunger felt like, after reading Down And Out In Paris And London.

    :/

People fast for 24 hours all the time when they're going to get blood tests and stuff

6 days. Before and after having intestinal surgery. Funny thing was that after a couple of days I wasn't hungry any more. They didn't feed me intravenously or anything.

Often did 36 hrs before weigh-ins for boxing...Very tough.

When you then eat, your mouth is sore and it takes a little time to
    bite and chew comfortably.

24 hours is hardly real hunger, try seven days and see what it feels like.

OP I guess you will never go on hunger strike

I suppose for several days when I was sick and in hospital once, IV was only thing keeping me alive apparently
Few times for a couple days or so when I've had stomach upsets, then I only managed a couple dry crackers or something

I had a bad habit for awhile of forgetting to eat, I wuold often go 24 hours + without food. Now Im less busy (thank god) I love my food :D

Longest time would have been 4 days when I was very ill.

24 hours was long enough, thank you very much.

Of course I'd never go on hunger strike. I'd regard it as a pointless exercise, whatever the circumstances.

7 days about 8 years ago.

Granted I was high as a kite for it.

5 days while on a lad's holiday to Malia.

Then bought a loaf and a tin of ham, ate that and then never had anything to eat for 4 more days.

during this 24 hour fast did you have anything to drink ?

personally I often go 24 hours with just coffee. It's not a problem for some people.

About 36 hours, I think. I was at a point where I wasn't thinking about food particularly. Luckily I've made a startling recovery and swung the needle back over to tubville.

3 Days, had my Wisdom teeth out. Mouth hurt, throat hurt, was drugged up to the last, all i did was sleep and drool before trying to eat jelly.

6 or 7 days while in hospital on IV. I didn't really want to eat after the time was up.

Outside of medical necessities I've done the 24 hour charity fast. It's not that difficult imo.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,148 ✭✭✭plein de force

i'd say about 3 days when i had food poisoning. The idea of eating repulsed me while every moveable thing in body evacuated both ends

I got roped in by the promise of 'basically speed' too. I was skagged for a day after, going from being roasting hot and pressed against the air conditioner to freezing and wrapped up in two blankets every half hour or so.

    Never again.
