    Hey everybody!

Seems that you had a good time in the last tournament.
I hope to be a part of the next tournament and thus am hoping to arrange some of my friends to come along.
I have to get that date free from work, but ill inform on the progress later on.

For the moment I say you can put me down for participating.

    Count me in.

Remember, you get tournament points just for turning up and paying the fee! Only the Top 8 players will be invited for the Finals!!!
    List at the moment:

    1) Nani
    2) RedDragonJack
    3) Firestarter
    4) The Domonator
    5) Mantys (org)
    6) ...

Casuals on 19th March from 12:00 till late. I am in, John probably as well.

@Dom: Finally man! I am so looking forward to playing against you!

    Standings so far:

    1) Eon 67
    2) Skeering 56
    3) Triademan (K.O.I.F.) 35
    4) Aaron 33
    5) Mantys 26 (org)
    6) NoviGlitzko 24
    7) RedDragonJack 20
    8) James 18 (?)
    8) Firestarter 18 (?)
    10) Nani 14
    11) Ezda 11
    12) Adam 7

There are more challenges prepared for players who want to get extra points! You can ask here what is it all about. To challenge a player, you ask a player who is directly above you. If you beat that player you will get extra tournament points. In this way, players, who are newcomers can challenge bottom players (and than higher) to get points and get to the finals. (Example: a newcomer will have to beat Adam in 7 matches first to three to score 7 points. Than he will have to challenge Ezda for 4 more points to advance. Players losing in a challenge will not lose any points.)

Good luck to everyone! And keep in touch!:D

That's an interesting idea mantys - do those challenges take place online or on the day? Also, do challenges have to be accepted. Say, for example the bottom player is sick of being challenged / beaten - can new people take the next person on or is there a system in place?

    🤪

  • Registered Users Posts: 192 ✭✭mantys

@Sabre0001: If you definitely know that you are better than the player above you and/or if you missed a tournament and you dropped because of that and the player above you is refusing a challenge FOR MALICIOUS REASONS, you tell me! I'll sort it out.
Example: Let's say it's the last tournament before the finals and player on the 9th place missed two tournaments (for being sick or whatever), has 152 points and the player on the 8th place has 159 points. The player on 8th place refuses to play a challenge for an apparent reason. Players will obviously know that he is not better than the 9th player as they all observe each other how they play and so on. I have two players who WILL tell me who do they think deserves to be in the finals, as they are elite here and know the game. I will consult it with them and I'll make the decision. I will take more things into consideration: if the player lives in Dublin, how often he participates in casuals, the knowledge of the game,... and so on.
Why me? I actually paid money for the final prize!:D

Combo challenges are challenges I create personally for a character.
Last time a Miguel player was asked to deal more than 100 damage in a single aerial with Miguel without using the unblockable, as it deals more than 200 damage. And stuff like that. Players in this way have an opportunity to show what they can do with a certain character.

P.S. You can challenge a player only once in the Tournament or during casuals. That is 4 times in a month. If you can't challenge a player (because he is absent, not because he doesn't want to be challenged) you may challenge the player above him.

These are the challenges for the next meet up:
    1) Grab Escaper - Escape 10 consecutive grabs in training mode
    2) Combos no more - beat me (Lili) withou using aerials (you may still launch)
    3) EWGF Expert - Execute 5 ewgfs from accross the screen without hitting the training dummy and moving backwards (Mishimas only, obviously)
    4) Devil May Cry - do the following aerial with Devil Jin: ws2, rewgf, 2, hs B!, f,f+3,2~ff, dewgf (03:10 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ggCxqRwhRhw&feature=related)

    Just to make things clear:
    - this is ONLY to spice up the game and allow players to show what they can do (how many times you wanted to show something you know but was shy to???:o)
    - if you don't want to, you don't have to participate in this; but please accept challenges from other playres
    - you WILL not get higher in the ranks (only closer to the player above you) after gaining extra points in challenges

I'll love to come down for some casuals the Saturday before :). But unfortunately I'll have to leave around 1:45...

Count me in for next tournament please. Also I wouldn't mind a combo challenge if possible.

I've never been able to do it myself

  • Registered Users Posts: 899 ✭✭✭BigStupidGuy

I'm sort of able to do it for one minute perfect, and then not for the next 5...

  • Registered Users Posts: 192 ✭✭mantys

Guys, can all players for the casuals show at around 12:00 this Saturday? I will not be able to play, will probably be short on cash (St.Patrick's Day tomorrow!) so will just observe your play and watch the challenges.

    Happy St.patricks's Day everyone!

  • Registered Users Posts: 203 ✭✭RedDragonJack

I won't be up for the casuals afterall, my sister is visiting this weekend.

  • Registered Users Posts: 18,703 ✭✭✭✭K.O.Kiki

Just went into T5DR training mode.
Picked Heihachi (who I can't really play).

Got an EWGF x3 combo, miss, then 5 EWGF in a row.
    Heh.

    *edit*

Whee, 8 in a row (not all hit).
Now my fingers hurt (heavy Seimitsu PS-14 buttons...)

Hey guys could I ask a quick favor for whoever is coming into casuals this Saturday? I can't bring up my PS3 controller or T6 BR disc, so could someone possibly bring up a spare controller? Id really appreciate it!

But if you think I'm not going to need one (i.e. if 2 screens and 4 controllers are already going to be there) then I guess you need not bother thanks!

Happy St. Pat's day everyone! :)

Oh and I think your better off with Kazuya when trying the EWGF. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't he the only one who's input is f,n,df+2 as opposed to f,n,d,df+2 ???? A good bit easier I think.

  • Registered Users Posts: 192 ✭✭mantys

@BigStupidGuy: Don't worry about it. I think only Firestarter and me will be there anyway. We'll see if somebody else shows up.
