I was told that Keating was still a couple of weeks from being ready last weekend. I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't start.

This is going to be a tough game.

He's from Crosskeys originally I think which would be Denn. He lives now in Lacken though and both his sons played for Lacken.

His son Terry Junior was in or around the panel a few years back. He has played for the juniors.

Not sure why you think he is from Crosskeys orginally. A Lacken man through and through. He managed Denn for a spell alright but thats all. Never lived there, managed a a few other clubs too, Knocbride, Ballyhaise, Lacey

    Typo , Lavey.

Hopefully we can get promotion.. A tough task in Pearse Park but have faith in this team to get the job done. Would give other lads in the panel a chance to impress in the final 2 games, if victory is secured tomorrow

AFAIK Terry Hyland is and always was a Lacken man.

That must be why I'm getting confused. Apologies. He won the intermediate with Lavey in 2009 alright and then left to take up his role with the U21s.

Cavan win! 1-9 to 10 points.

    We're promoted now I believe!

Cavan and Rosscommon go up. Congrats and this will take a lot of pressure off the u21 team.

Cavan have only conceded 45 points in 5 games. Also the only team not to concede a goal in all 4 leagues, every other team has conceded at least 2! Pretty impressive stats.

The team are very well schooled in tackling and turning over possession. Even when you think an opposing forward has the better of one of the backs, they'll emerge with the ball.

35 players have been used in the five league games. That is impressive. I was told weeks ago that some of the newer lads were told they'd get a better run if things went well so I'd expect that to happen now.

Fantastic result today and great performance against a blanket defence for large parts. Thought McKeever in particular was superb.

Nice to get out of this Division and a few more lads can be given a run.

Looking at the panel, I'd be expecting the likes of Tinnelly, Maloney Dernham, Packie Leddy, Conroy, David Hyland and Niall Smith to get extended runs in the last two matches.

Alan Clarke, Keating and Givney will also be coming back from injury so will need match practice.

Lyng seemed to make a difference with some key passes when he came on today. Nice to see because I wasn't particularly thrilled about him coming back into the panel.

How's the hurling going in Cavan?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,145 ✭✭✭blowitupref

Well done to Cavan, today was a tricky test however you got the job done. Five wins from five with no goals conceded is some going and it was achieved with a big injury list.

Great win, but again plenty to work on which is always a good sign.....missed a host of chances, hit the post 3 times and the crossbar once and sloppy in possession at times.

But the character we show is ridiculous. A man wand no panic. Not one player who is afraid to take responsibility. Dunne at full back was excellent, and MOTM for me.

Shot selection definitely needs to be worked on. I'd like to see Jack Brady in the full forward line when he returns. He'd be better than Dunne IMO.

Tierney was alot better today than last week.

Wasn't it Roscommon we lost to in the 2007 league semi final in Croker?

I think the only players left that would have been involved that day are Ronan Flanagan and McKeever.
