Email account compromised

    Hi There,

    This may be the wrong section so if it it, mods, please feel free to move it.

    Anyway, it would seem my email was hacked or at the very least compromised.

    Someone has been emailing using my name and site name. Yesterday I got a reply from someone contacted by "me" on Daft. My Gmail hasnt been compromised. The situation is like this: A person called Terry Mahago or something like that is sending emails as me, and replies are coming back to my gmail. Has anyone experienced anything like this?

    Change your password just in case - but it's dead easy to make it look like you're sending emails from any email address without compromising your account.

    More than likely someone has just used your email address when asked to fill in an address on that site, they wouldn't actually be able to read your emails.

    Get in touch with Daft, they'll be able to trace when and where your email address was used on the site.
