Budget weights and bench- best option?

    Hey everyone,

Would appreciate a bit of advice on what bench and weights I should purchase for my bedroom as the gym is too far away to motivate me to go there especially in the rain etc. and I want to get serious with my exercise as the springtime and summer rolls in.

I've been looking on the Argos website which may not be the best(but the cheapest options I have found so far) If anyone has any cheaper alternatives, feel free to pitch in.

So, first off we have this :the cheapest option and probably the flimsiest. Good price though.

Then this :almost twice the price and definitely the highest I am willing to go price-wise. It's a better brand and does have an arm pad for use of dumbbells. Weights are vinyl again though.

Then, finally this :It doesn't come with weights, but is a good price and looks good. Liking the butterfly addition compared to the first one aswell. I could buy a set of cast irons then hopefully such as these
Although, are vinyl weights really that bad? For a beginner?

    Any suggestions? Cheers.

also bear in mind the total weight on these things as well, not sure on your current stats.

for a beginner i would recommend you just do body weight exercises and get a chin up bar for a door frame. From there get a kettlebell and a mat and you are set for at least a year before you would need to touch a bench or adjustable weights.

Splash out and get the weights and bench but i think that many people go down this route and never really use them or get as much benefit out of just getting down and dirty with plenty of home workouts using mainly body weight

Just check out the Bartendaz on youtube to see what can be achieved using bodyweight alone!
