Just cannot see us making 200 + if we make 250 it will have been a great performance.

Cleaning up the lower order, in fairness to them.

My Ireland to win bet at 10/1 is looking a bit unlikely now as there is no way Ireland are going to make 328 runs. :(

1st and 3rd wicket stands of 91 and 167 were the killers.
    Battled well after these.

If Ireland scores over 260 today, that's a victory to me. I just hope they stick around and guard their wicket even if they don't score much, just get some batting practice in!

Oh ye of little faith.....328 is achievable if the will is there!

COME ON THE BOYS IN GREEN;)

I think it'd be disappointing if we don't make at least around 250. Pitch is very flat, with a fast outfield and an England attack that has conceded 292 and 338 so far in the tournament.

Mind you, getting anywhere near 327 is a huge ask. Bowling was solid in parts, spinners were tight after the opening stand was broken and death bowling was strong. Some loose stuff as well though, Botha was a loss. Cusack very erratic.

If the irish batsmen play like the way they played against Bangladesh then the final score would look something like this

    Eng 237/8 50 ovrs
    Irl 90/10 25 ovrs

UGH! Wasnt really a very good start

How the hell can you get bowled on the very first ball of the innings !!!!

Jeez, we might as well decide not to bat in a match !!! Just bowl and go home...

I happen to be very fond of this start; expectant and fond.

Such a bad start to the innings. Let's hope we can get some pride in our score.

Losing a wicket straight away is a killer, even more so because it will give Anderson confidence considering he's been playing pants up until now in the tournament

    Stirling hits six. Careul now..!

  • Registered Users Posts: 583 ✭✭✭Is1ldur

Okay, maybe I spoke too soon....Still annoying to lose a wicket so early. I think the whole innings is gonna be nerve-wracking....

    anyone got a stream?

  • Registered Users Posts: 609 ✭✭✭jmx009

good six by stirling... Atleast they are showing some resitance. Like someone else mentioned earlier, it will help the team confidence and spirit if Ireland somehow manages to bat the full 50 overs.

conversely it will help England if they can show true grit in closing down a minnow clinically and comprehensively before South Africa - time to put our game face on me thinks

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,303 ✭✭✭positron

Should have been a six right there...!

PS: Quickly followed by a pointless loose shot.. hmm..

  • Registered Users Posts: 609 ✭✭✭jmx009

Lads, we are on fire here !!!!

I hope they dont get too excited and throw away their wickets now..

Anyone know if it is possible to hear this online. I don't want a stream, as I am in work, but would like to listen on BBC, but that is not possible due to their restrictions.
