    Hi,

I have a box of the above with a best before date of the end of Janury 2011. Would it still be okay to eat them and would they have lost their nutriotnal content within a few weeks

There is a difference between best before date and use by date.
I'v seen it advised that items exceeding their best before date have some inbuilt tolerances. Whereas use by means just that.
So munch on is what I'd do.

Came across some some protein that had just exceeded its best before date not so long ago and the smell was not pretty!

    proceed with caution!!

Nah Id say as soon as the 1st of feb hit they went right off-best that you pass them on to me for safe eating.....Im mean disposal!! :D

Theyre in sealed airtight wrappers and chances are were made months possibly over a year ago-manufacturers dont give that little of a margin of error on the likes of best before dates-eat away.

I'd probably eat just a little bit first and see if it stays down. You should be fine though, I have drank out of date beer before and have lived.

I'd probably fire ahead myself, but I'd be giving them a damned good sniff first. A damned good sniff.
