This happens when you have AVG (well did for me)

You need to go and turn off the resident shield, then open minecraft. Then you can turn it back on and make a path list to ignore the minecraft file.

AVG just things its a virus..so make sure its not in your virus vault

Yeh apparently they are moving the verification thing so that you can still log onto online even if the website goes down.

Thats what i've heard anyways.

As far as i know currently the authenticity side of things for connecting to servers and things is currently down, its not to clear why its down. This means that we can't connect to servers.

ya the minecraft servers have been up and down all the time over the last few days first with the new launcher it was not working and i had to use the old one but that seems to be fixed now. but i still cant log into any server most of today.
