He's certainly unusual in this day and age. Still, I wouldn't be a big fan of deriding somebody as "crazy" if they have something most of us don't have, namely the courage to stand for election and receive public criticism/public humiliation based on our beliefs.

I wouldn't be a big fan of commending someone as courageous for standing for election.

And his personal beliefs are his actual policy.

Mannix Flynn seems more creative and interesting than anything else, although 'crazy' in a good way is a plus in my book. As a matter of public record he has been hospitalised in a mental institution as well as brutalised in Letterfrack Industrial School in Conamara. Somebody posted another wacky video of Asians giving support to him. Adds a bit of colour to the campaign. And Christy is supporting him.
