Completely Fat Free Diet

    Hi all,

just for a couple of days I've to eat absolutely no fat due to some health issues I'm having and trying to get to the bottom of it. The doctor even said I should try and avoid good fats if I can. So what exactly can I eat apart from fruit and veg? I know it's only a couple of days, but I don't wanna be starving and ending up eating a load of buttery toast or something and then having to start all over again.

    Thanks!

A doctor told you to eat a fat free diet?

To be honest, I can't imagine what you could eat, since virtually everything has some trace of fat in it. And fat is a necessary nutrient and you'll be starving on a a fat free diet.

However, if you must: lots of fruit and veg, tinned tuna, egg white, completely trimmed chicken or turkey breast, fat free cottage cheese, brown rice, potatoes, home-made salsa to add flavour and texture.

    Thanks Eileen.

It's only for a couple of days and to rule out (or indeed in) some issues I may/may not be having with my pancreas and gallbladder. I can go back to eating normally straight after.
