Help me put on weight?

    Hi All,

Hope this the right place for this - looking for some advice, I'm a (nearly) 25 yr old female weighing beteen 8-8.5 stone.... I do not "watch what I eat" by any menas in terms of dieting - I eat what I want, when I want however I would have a healthy enough diet (but would still have chocolate/crisps etc if/when I wanted - maybe a few times a week...) I have never been any heavier than 8.5 stone (kinda a genetic thing I think) I used to play alot of sport, numerous at these at inter provincial/inter national level so my fitness elevels would be very good, even though I no longer play sport (due to work commitments) I am on my feet, running around for 90% of my work day - I work in a factory.

So gettig to the point - I have decided - I want to put on some weight - even half a stone to a stone, what is the best way to do this healthily? While I eat a fairly healthy diet, I think I just don't eat enough - I have a very small appetite. A very rough idea of my daily diet would be:
Breakfast - cereal (could be anything) or porridge, banana and a cereal bar (full of sugar I know but still - handy in the car!) cup of tea.
Break in work: 1 or 2 activia yogurts or ham+cheese brown bread sandwich, cup of tea
Lunch in work - whatever is going - spaghetti bolonaise, lasagne, etc OR soup and a roll/2 slices of brown bread with "real" butter or a sandwich, drink and bag of crisp - something along those lines
Dinner (depends on lunch) - anything ranging from "filled pasta" and sauce with lotsa cheese to fillet steak dinner with spuds, beans etc

So - suggestions please? Thoughts on current, very roughly outlined, diet above? Suggestions fro improving my appetite/putting on weight. I usually get hoe from work around 6/6:30 - have dinner then and try to eat something before bed (as figure I should eat more more often) but am usually not hungry enough, would try maybe a yogurt/toast. Usually have hot water iwth lemon and honey going to bed....

    So suggestions/thoughts welcome.... :o:confused:

    How tall are you?

Do you fell like you are underweight?

What is the reasoning for gaining this weight? As you're not hungry and it appears you eat more than most people - what I mean there is most people don't have a sandwich between breakfast and lunch - I wouldn't be concerned to be honest.

Rather than look to gain weight maybe you should look at eating as healthy as possible.

Also you don't mention alcohol consumption - If you don't drink it could be a reason for not putting on weight.

    I'm approx 5ft 5 or 5ft 6 I'd say, really pushing it at 5ft 7.

I do drink but not alot or very often. I could easily go two or three months without drinking, other times, depending what is on I could drink two or three nights in row but would never drink much - maybe 5 or 6 bottles of miller through out the night - again like food, I will drink if/when I want to drink, eg. there is something on - I will drink but I would say I prob only drink every 2 or 3 weeks on average maybe.

I do feel like maybe I need a little more weight on me - I thnk maybe I am too skinny/boney - especially around my shoulders/arms.
