Thinking about starting to take this stuff in it's raw/organic form to help with acid reflux, have a read up a good bit about the good/bad sides but still a little unsure, anyone know much about the negative sides to it? Or experienced any of the positive/negative sides to it?

    Any help much appreciated, cheers.

If you are planning to get some i would suggest buying unfiltered and unpasteurised Organic Apple Cider Vinegar with mother.

The natural sediment, called ‘mother’, - the true sign of raw, unfiltered vinegar - contains pectin, trace minerals, friendly bacteria and enzymes.

It's what i use and drink on a daily basis, natures finest.

If you are interested in possible uses and applications that arise from ACV including thoughts and experiences from others who use it, then take a look over at http://www.earthclinic.com/Remedies/acvinegar.html.

Specific section for Acid Reflux here: http://www.earthclinic.com/Remedies/acvinegar.html#ACIDREFLUX

Nice one Axe Rake, yeah have taken a look at that site already, quite helpful.

Yeah the organic one is definitely what i'm after "with mother" as you say. You say you use it daily, you haven't noticed any negatives then? Is it available in most health food shops?

I haven't experienced any negative physical effects. Some people who apply it on their skin might be bothered by the smell, but thats a small issue really.

The taste can be quite sour while taking small gulps(mixed with water), so it can be a bit tough to swallow but you get used to it after a while and just swallow it all in one go.

I never actually looked specifically in a health food shop for ACV, but i order mine online from Higher Nature in the UK.

You can drink it in a shot glass and wash it down with a half glass of water immediately afterwards.

You could always make your own, get pressed apple juice in a supermarket and ferment it and then add mother of vinegar to it to turn the cider to vinegar.

I like the idea but just don't think i could be bothered making my own, especially if it ends up not even working! From the sounds of it the only way i'll be able to stomach it is in some warm water with honey. Will grab a bottle tomorrow anyway and fingers crossed it has the desired effect!
