    Hi all,

Just wondering what your thoughts on calorie cycling are? In terms of weight loss and maintenance is it of any benefit?
    Thanks

    What is calorie cycling?

Varying caloric intake depending on day's activity. For example, eat more on a training day, less on a rest/cardio day.

While the theory sounds good, I don't think the effects are very large. I never tried it systematically.

I am open to correction but my understanding of it is varying your calorie intake everyday so as to keep your body guessing. However overall weekly calorie intake remains the same.

Oh I do this all the time. If you're exercising hard in a day you just cry out for more food in my experience. On a rest day, not so much.

Lachin: The greatest determinant of fat loss will be total calorie intake. If you're not varying it on a weekly basis, I wouldn't expect to see any *real* difference.
