    anyone know the diameter of the plate sleeve of an oly bar? or the diameter of the center hole in an oly plate?

    50mm although only high end bars and plates are probably exactly that , most plates have a bit more and tend not to sit exactly straight on the bar without collars

    most high end bars are made to 50mm and allow a further .5mm for chrome or other finishes

    Plates hav an ID (inside dimension) of 51mm some poor quality ones are a bit more

    cheap bars tend to be 48.3mm (+ .5mm for chrome) this is down to the metric convertion also 48.3 is much cheaper than 50mm steel stock for manufacturers to buy so only elite bars such as eleiko tend to be 50mm
