    Protein Shakes

Understand they used as a quick and easy way to get protein. Just wondering though has anybody any personal experience of taking one after workout to loose weight.Am working a deficit but prob a bit too much of a one. Dont wanna increase whole food intake cos in a nice routine but wouldnt mind trying one directly after training. Just wondering about people's experiences with shakes for losing weight???

I've lost weight/bodyfat while taking protein shakes after weights sessions. Went from around 81/82kg to about 65kg while I was training for a marathon. My weights sessions, and therefore protein shakes to get handy protein into me, were vital in keeping as much muscle in my legs as possible.

Basically, as long as you count the shakes into your overall daily calorie allowance and you aim for under that figure then you're going to lose weight.
