    Hi guys,

just a little curious about something. I've recently lost a lot of weight (100kg > 70kg now). I weighed in ~70kg on friday, after a night with a few drinks (spirits mainly) and a pizza afterwards( :( ), the following evening i was weighing in over 73kg. I drink a lot of water but I am wondering have I seriously put on this amount of weight after 1 night binge? Really curious and kind of worried that that's how my body is going to react and gain weight that quickly! :o

That's water retention due to the high amount of toxins in your body (due to alcohol and junk food. Your body retains water to try to flush out the toxins.

Eat healthy for a few days and weigh yourself again and you'll be back to normal.

Also did you originally weigh yourself in the morning? We weigh significantly less in the morning than in the evenings.

This happens to me regularly, I lost four and a half stone in the last year and when I drink beer and eat crap my weight shoots up but after about 3 days it comes back down again.

You would have to eat 3500 surplus calories to put on just .45kg

It's water. Also, it's pointless weighing yourself in the evening, what with all the food and water of the day swirling around inside you. Best to do it first thing in the morning after you've been to the bathroom.

As the others have said it's mostly water. Other stuff that will be contributing includes some stored fat, glycogen and intestinal weight.

I wouldnt worry - half a stone fluctuation is not uncommon for a lot of people. If your pants etc are not tighter then its water, food etc
