cannot connect to huawei 8620a through cable

Hi guys, have a issue here. although I am connected through a ethernet connection to the router, when I key in http://192.168.1.1 which should take me in to the router settings panal it fails to respond. when I look to my connections it says that I am connected to an unidentified network. can anyone help? regards Peter
