    Hi All,

Looking for some info and tips if anyone can help me out and apologies if this might be the wrong forum!

Basically I took up MMA a while ago, last year while doing takedowns i heard a crack in my rib followed by pain! gave it a rest for 6-8 weeks and felt better, went back and an hour into class I had to leave with the pain. I went and got an X-ray and no broken rib so it was either cracked or it was a torn muscle said the doc.

The second time I was out for a good 4 months. Anyway was back in January and while doing some simple moves (armbars) it popped again  (the other guy even felt it tho :P)

I had physio on this and I'm doing swimming to make it stronger but after all this spiel above my main question is what exercises can I do to strengthen this area so that it won't be a continuous problem, will Russian twists, pushups etc help?

    Thanks in advance.
