There doesnt seem to be a page for rowing in the Sports menu so maybe here is the place to go.

I would like to have something to aim for basically when it comes to rowing so was wondering if anyone knows of any comps happening in the next few months? I've googled but theres lots of rowing language/terminology I dont understand so any info you guys might have would be great!

    Thanks!
    Doolee

    Hey,
Thanks for that, I saw it all right and I'm in the 3-4mins so I guess I could work on improving that. But it would be good experience to compete in a sort of just for the fun of it type thingy (but really want to win actually) event! :)

There is a few indoor rowing races.

    Rowing Ireland website can help.

Not got time to check atm for the indoor calendar but I'd hope it's up there.

I'm going to stick to the boards.ie 1k challenge as a 2k is a whole other world of pain which I am not quite ready for!:D

Indoor comps are all over 2k (usually).

Didnt know that actually. Wasnt even thinking of distance! Well, today I managed 5000 metres in 23:10 min so was happy with that as was aiming for 25 mins. Pretty boring 23 mins tho, must sort out a decent playlist to distract myself.
What kind of times have you been doing for a 1K?

It's all in the other thread.

Best currently (for me) is 3m26.1 I think.

Hoping to get less than 3m for 1k this year.

I never listen to music on the erg, never did.

A good goal for the 5k is sub 20mins which seems like you are very capable of doing in a few weeks.
