What a nice thing to read first thing in the morning.
Hopefully the old band will reunite for this one, but either way, Miami is tempting enough to make me go again. :)

Kane, Orlando (Disneyworld, Universal Studios, Sea World) and Miami (Wrestlemania), sounds like THE PLAN.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,785 ✭✭✭Kane-N-Nite

Really? I dunno. Will Miami not suffice? Tempting but I can already see $ everywhere. :P

Yeah, for 24 in 2008. Still, missed that one so I can't complain.

All I need now is it's date.

what did they **** up this yeas(as I didnt purchse a package) I only saw the 15 min delay they had...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 117 ✭✭The Fly

Yup this is a definite... already was prob going anywayz and definitely wanna go to Florida, never been before. Heck if it goes Toronto and New York the next two years, there's plenty of good places to look forward to :)

Nice logo, but yeah expect some sort of change...expected it to be more yellow again given the sun. They've gone back to a very similar style to WM7 and 8 with the curve.

WWE issued the following press release today.

    WrestleMania is Miami-bound in 2012

MIAMI – The Miami-Dade Sports Commission, Miami-Dade County, Miami Dolphins, Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau, and WWE announced Wednesday that Sun Life Stadium, home of the Dolphins and other world-class events, will host WWE’s annual pop culture extravaganza, WrestleMania XXVIII, on Sunday, April 1, 2012.

The announcement was made Wednesday at a press conference at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach. Miami-Dade County Commissioner and Chairman of the Miami-Dade Sports Commission Jose “Pepe” Diaz, Miami-Dade Sports Commission Executive Director Mike Sophia, Miami Dolphins CEO Mike Dee, former Dolphins Quarterback and NFL Hall of Famer Dan Marino, and Miami Dolphins limited partner and Grammy Award Winner Emilio Estefan, joined WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon and WWE’s Senior Vice President of Special Events John Saboor in making the announcement. WWE Superstars John Cena, The Miz, Mark Henry and Alberto Del Rio, and WWE Diva Eve were also on hand for the announcement.

“Miami has always been the home of first class events, and this event will add to that legacy,” said Jose “Pepe” Diaz, Miami-Dade County Commissioner and Chairman of the Miami-Dade Sports Commission. “Hosting WrestleMania is a huge coup for Miami.”

“On behalf of WWE, I would like to thank Commissioner Diaz and all his colleagues for their support, and the Miami-Dade Sports Commission for graciously rolling out the red carpet to bring WrestleMania to one of the world’s most cosmopolitan cities,” said Vince McMahon, WWE Chairman and CEO. “We look forward to adding WrestleMania to the list of prestigious events held at Sun Life Stadium.”

“For nearly 25 years, Sun Life Stadium has played host to South Florida’s world class events that provide economic benefit to the entire community,” said Dolphins CEO Mike Dee. “We applaud the efforts of Commissioner Diaz and the Sports Commission on attracting WWE, and look forward to an unforgettable WrestleMania in 2012.”

WrestleMania is not just a one-day event; it’s a week-long celebration, as visitors from around the world are expected to converge on Miami for WrestleMania Week. Activities will include the 2012 WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, WrestleMania Axxess, the finals of the WrestleMania Reading Challenge and a Celebrity Pro-Am Golf Tournament. The pay-per-view event will be televised to more than 100 countries.

Over the past three years, WrestleMania and the events surrounding it has generated nearly $150 million in cumulative economic impact for the host cities. Last year, 72,219 fans from all 50 states and 26 countries converged on the University of Phoenix Stadium for WrestleMania XXVI.
    :)

    Already eyeing this up already.

One thing though, quick look shows the stadium miles out of Miami really, and miles from the American Airlines Arena (most likely the site of RAW on the Monday).

Would the travel package hotel be closer to Mania site, or central Miami?

Its kinda like last years. I think the package holders were put up near the stadium last year. Again, I guess we won't know come June / July.

Already making plans with friends :D

    Hmm interesting then.

Might put it all together myself like I did for Mania 24, got a central hotel to all the Orlando attractions, and got a shuttle to Mania and back :)

Guess we shall see, but me and some mates are already planning

Been buzzing all day from this news. Thought I'd give Boards a return as I'll definitely be making plans for this one! I may be studying in Tennessee next year so a short flight south will be awesome. Either way, I'm there!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,785 ✭✭✭Kane-N-Nite

&.......HES BACK! A day of returns! If you don't go go to Tennessee we can fly out together. We are gonna be making some sweet plans this year. :)

Whether its a weekend or 2 weeks, It'll be a blast. Just gotta decide if another city is on the agenda.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,005 ✭✭✭Haz2311

If it's 2 weeks then definitely Miami and Orlando I reckon.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,785 ✭✭✭Kane-N-Nite

Would suck if we went to Orlando first then then SD was in Orlando after Miami...

No brainer for me. I get to keep my Mania streak alive and cross South Beach off my "places to go" list all in one trip.

stadium up in the north part of the city, american airlines arena is right in downtown, honestly in my opinion the only place you should be happy with a hotel in miami is miami beach and in particular the south beach area of miami beach, great restaurants, great bars/clubs, concerts on the beach at night, i remember thinking it south beach was going to be so expensive, much cheaper than any town in this country

Sounds like a plan Rossie. Be great to stay at Miami beach. :)

Since Orlando gets good Wrestling shows every year, my prediction is Orlando will host the Supershow prior WM28 :D Remember last year I predicted San Jose, and I was right! ;) I can´t wait for this mania, I´m already more excited with this than WM27 itself...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,785 ✭✭✭Kane-N-Nite

This is quite the trip to look forward to, but Atlanta will still be amazing. We just got lucky with Miami.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 526 ✭✭✭Initium

You´ll love Atlante for sure, I had a great time there last year and it´s a nice town. But the weather in Orlando and Miami will be great by april ;)
