Sorry if this is not the right forum or it has been asked before, but has anyone ever actually lost any weight or got much fitter through using the Wii Fit?

The only thing on it I felt pushed me at all was the Hula Hoop that works your stomach muscles.

There's an opportunity to sell it and I'm thinking its all just a marketing ploy.

I bought a Wii fit a long long time ago with a similar idea in mind. I think it at least sparked a general desire to further my exercise towards more effective areas but I dont believe that Wii fit significantly contributed towards me becoming fitter (the 35-45 minutes a day pounding away on the exercise bike did that!)

In terms of just being active a bit it's not bad but for anyone with specific goals they want to achieve it isn't really an effective tool.

Sold mine a while back and haven't missed it one bit.

It's part of a games console, that's all it is a game.

The only thing it will improve, is you performance in Wii fit

I saw a guy who dressed up real warm and played the tennis for half an hour like he was actually on the court.:)

There is no denying that some of the games do give you a bit of a workout - boxing is good.

That game where you fly as a chicken or something is probably one of the best for your arms as you're 'flapping' them like a bird!

Overall I'd say it's a bit of fun and if you played it for half an hour as opposed to slouching on the couch it will help a bit in overall calorie expenditure.

BTW - I forgot to say the best thing the WII does is measure and record your weight.

Wii is to weight loss as a piss is to a house on fire. :)

If someone bought one, I'd tell them to use the thing you stand on for exercise.

10 Over Head Lunges with it held overhead
    8 Burpees
8 One Arm presses with it
    Rounds in 10 minutes!
