Yogurt for breakfast?

    Is 225g of low fat probiotic yogurt and a cup of coffee a sufficient breakfast?

    Have it with some fruit and you'll be amazed how full you'll be til lunchtime.

    I have 8oz (just over 225g) probiotic yogurt with an apple and a banana for lunch every morning and I never need to snack. For the record, I have breakfast about 8.30 or 9am at my desk and don't eat lunch until about 1.

    However, just the yogurt on it's own won't be very sustainable. You'll be reaching for the bikkies at 11am!

    Depends on how active your day is, when you will be eating again etc. Personally id make it to about 9:15 on that!

    Desk jockey so not active at all.

    This would be at my desk at 8am with lunch aound 12:30pm. Will try adding some fruit to bulk it up.

    225g of low fat yoghurt = around 170 calories, right? I'm working off memory, so that may not be right, but I think you'd be doing well to go far on that.

    So what could I have in addition to it? Would a banana/apple be enough?

    It depends on your goals, your energy levels etc.

    Do you want to lose weight? Do you lack energy? what exacly do you want from this so called 'breakfast'? :)

    Id be feckin starvin 10 min later on that haha

    But, again - all depends - does it fill you, what are your goals etc? Will you meet a suffecient daily total through other meals/snacks?

    Don't want to lose weight or lack energy. Want a healthy, convenient breakfast that will keep me feeling full till lunchtime.

    Used to eat porridge but have gotten really sick of it.

    If you like yoghurt, Greek yoghurt is far more filling and tasty. Lidl do a nice one. And you can still add fruit, nuts, dark chocolate etc

    Tesco do it as well. Might try it then. Is it probiotic?

    Nope don't think so. If you want to stick with a probiotic one, which is probably a good idea, at least look for a full-fat one. can't think of any off hand but I'm sure there's something.

    You can add a handful or two of raw oats to your yogurt, its delicious and very filling.

    Are you finding yourself very hungry come lunchtime? If not you're probably grand. Maybe cut up an apple or an orange and throw it in. If you enjoy it and you're finding yourself not hungry then it's grand.

    Finding I am ravenous come lunch time and then more likely to eat cr*p.
