Nutritionist

    Hi There,

I am looking into going to a nutritionist as I have no idea how to get my lifestyle into a healthy one.

I don't have a massive junk food addiction as I cut most junk food (take aways) out a long time ago. Would be more of a savoury person rather than sweet tooth so the snacks I usually go for are crisps or nuts (like the chilli coated ones!).

I try to eat healthy as in eat my veg and stuff but mainly in combination with pasta. Lots of pasta!

Try not to eat too much bread but have my moments of getting bread rolls for work and the likes.

I think that compared to people around me (my partner for example!) I eat healthily however I can't seem to shift any weight and often have a bloated feeling. Lack of energy can be added to that too.

Is there anyone with experience of visiting a nutritionist and what could I expect of visiting one? Will they be able to tell me what for me (female, mid twenties, 10.5 stone, 5ft2) a balanced diet would be, without having to go on a massive diet? I love my food and try to eat in moderation but could not see myself cutting out any major foods or go on an all fruit and veg kinda diet!

    Any advice there?

If you are not willing to sacrifice something, then you simply will never achieve the weight losses that you strive for.

The most important aspect of changing your lifestyle and diet is your determination and willingness to implement these changes.

If you lack this strength you will never fully see the potential gains. One thing that people underestimate is the time factor as well. There is no quick and easy fix that works for everyone. Dietary and physical changes require proper effort, motivation and patience.

A good start is to include a more regular exercise program, move towards drinking more water(especially before meals) and cutting down on wheat(especially pasta) and dairy products. If you really hate eating vegetables and fruits then i suggest buying or creating your own smoothies.
    They will taste great!

It is also easier if your partner joins in or at least encourages you. This gives you more motivation and you can face the challenge together.

The choice is yours, do you really want to change or not?

Ask yourself this question and give it a long deep think through.

    Best of luck :)
