Slimming World - Do your tastebuds change.

On slimming world coming into 3 weeks now (coupled with a fair bit of exercise (spin classes)).

Down 7.5 lbs on my 2nd weigh in, so am more than happy with progress so far.

Am a big wine fan but had been drinking way too much 4-5 bottles per week, so have not had a drink in almost 3 weeks now.

Last night went to have a square of Bournville chocolate. Tasted so sweet that I almost spat it out.

Similarly tonight, said I would have one glass of wine (chein blanc) with my dinner, but again when I tasted it, I could just taste pure sugar so did not even drink the glass.

Has anyone else experienced anything similar. Is it normal?

Never heard of anything like this. It's possible though that if you cut out all sugar from your diet that when you gradually introduce it again that your taste buds really notice it.

Maybe it's your body's way of telling you to give up sugar! ;)

I would be more a savoury person than a sweet person anyway, but I can't seem to tolerate it now at all. Anything with sugar added tastes very sweet.

Think it's someone telling me to give up booze, not sugar, lol.

I have noticed the taste in food more, like after 3 weeks at SW I went out for dinner in this pub, I could taste all the oil that the food was cooked in. Usually I love a greasy fry up but this was disgusting. Put me off it. What a waste of money!!!

SW is brilliant though. Surprised there's not a sticky thread :(

I've lost 16.5lbs in 5 weeks, my 6th weigh in is tomorrow night but it looks like I'll probably be staying the same or gaining cos I've been very naughty over the past 4 days :(

Am also surprised there is not a sticky for SW!

Am now coming up to six weeks (weigh in tomorrow) and am at 11lbs and expect to get to the stone mark tomorrow. 1 stone in 6 weeks - will be very happy with that.

Still off the booze and feel great. I went from drinking 4-5 bottles of wine a week(!) to 2 glasses in the past six weeks! People are now noticing the weight loss, got lots of compliments yesterday in work so feeling good!

Nice one! Your weigh in is today aswell? Ooooh maybe you're in my class :P

Like I say to myself, even if I average 1.5lbs a week until October, I can reach my interim target weight by then! So focus on small goals every week. Like take for example, when I started I said, 1 stone by Paddys Day, then I was like ohh maybe I can lose 1 stone by Val's Day. Now I have and my next goal is get to Club 10 by Paddy's Day which I only need another 5lbs get it.

    Good luck with your WI.

    My weigh in is tomorrow.

If I get my stone tomorrow (which does look v. likely!!!, unless I fall drastically off the wagon between now and then) I have 12 lbs left to goal.

WOW! How long have you been on the plan for???

I lost 1.5lbs last Tue, so 18lbs in 6 weeks, not bad going. Going for the 1.5 stone mark next week.
