Does anyone know what settings I need to set my samsung or dvr to have the whole screen fit my TV.When I put in it on "wide zoon" its fit perfectly.but when i select the UPC guide I am missing tthe bottom of the screen so I have to selec 16:9 to view it fully. But if i dont switch back to "wide zoom" I get the black lines top and bottom  Pain in the ass having to keep swtiching between 2 remotes

Set the DVR to 16:9. Set the TV to auto. There should be no need to change settings after that.

That's true but some people will want distort the picture to remove the black bars. I think they don't realise that the black bars should be there on some programming.

If you are watching the analogue UPC channels there's nothing you can do as they transmit in a rubbish format and can't be fixed.
