Ezridax was saying about starting a thread on groups from hunting rilfes.
SO this excludes all you target shoters, you have your own section.

    Rifle and Calibre = Sako 75 .308
Equipment use = Prone in a field front bi-pod only
    Range to target = 100y
Number of shots in each group = 5
Group = 1/2" - The lower shots are aimimg in and the top is the 5 shot group.
Conditions. = Wind left to right gusting
    Ammo. = Hornaday 155gr

117gr Sierra Gamekings from my .25-06. 107 metres, prone off the bipod, no back rest. Last group shot just before the light went, probably shot it in under a minute. Not too shabby. Have a similar one I've no photo of with the 117gr Hornady SSTs.

Rifle: Sako 75 Hunter in .25-06
Equipment: Harris 9-13" bipod on highest setting to clear long grass
Range: 107 metres by laser rangefinder
    Number of shots: 3
Group size: About a half inch, give or take a small amount.
    Conditions: Very light breeze, negligible.
Ammo: Federal Premium load 117gr Sierra Gameking BTSP

Hey folks, we want to keep this thread for pictures of groups from hunting rifles only, so no idle chit chat in here please.

A strict rule of "No new picture, no comment"

I'd ask anyone who sees posts breaking this rule to use the report post function and we will remove the post.

Rifle: Sako 75 Hunter in .25-06
Ammo: Federal Powershok 117gr soft point
    Distance: 107 metres
Conditions: Strong wind, around 15-20mph, from five o'clock
Setup: Prone off Harris bipod, fist under butt of rifle.

Details: Three shot group. Second shot is the one to the left, which I pulled. When the third one went in the same hole as the first I was gutted at what might have been. Still, sub .75" with a pulled shot, could be worse. Zeroed then with an old box of 115gr Nosler Partitions (courtesy of a generous Boardsie) which shot very tight horizontally, and under an inch vertically, but I think that was me being cold and tired and cranky. Could definitely shoot tighter in better conditions or with a better man behind the rifle.

    1. Rifle and Calibre CZ Varmint 22lr - customized
    2. Equipment used. Harris 6"-9" back sand bag
    3. Range to target in yards or meters 50m/54y
    4. Number of shots in each group 20 and 15

    6. Conditions. e.g. Temp. time, wind and direction. Gusting 5mph
    7. Ammo. Eley 22lr Sport
I got to put a few rounds through my 22lr to see how they group. Realy this is for the first time since getting the rifle back in the summer, only zeroed before a couple of times. I'm happy with the results.

I'm not sure on the scoring here but if outside counts then I have 2 x 134's and a couple of x10's
I also managed to put a staple in my thumb.

My humble offering from my bog standard CZ 223 varmint:

    5shotgtroup.jpg

    55gr hornady and 8X scope

Heavy trigger (7lb Yes I messed it up fiddling at it) causes me to pull some shots vertically, hence the 2 slightly above. But I'm Getting this sorted, as close to a custom gun as I can afford :o.

Got the new Barrel on the .223 this week.
I was running her in today.

I fired 40 shots of 55 grain Hornady and Federal.
Since I got a new barrel WOLF will not chamber any more.

The Federal 50 grain @ €14 a box grouped very well.

I pulled a few shots with the Hornady 55 Grain Moly.
The cold was bitter so it was hard to stay focused.

Hopefully next week will bring some sun and some bunnies.

Thanks to Dev110 for helping me with the cleaning rod and supplying me with some Federal after the wolf would not work.

After a glass and pillar bedding job by Clive J. It's just a bit tighter than previously and a bit more consistent. Groups will tighten up a bit too. I added some weight to the trigger to have better feel when it's cold, so there's about 3.25lb on it now. Once I'm more used to that, groups will shrink.

i am in the process of running in my .243 sako/trueflight, i have gone threw 15 rounds of cleaning and firing yesterday, it takes ages.
and this morning i free floated the barrel as the new one is bigger than the old one. any way thats another thread.

    rifle. sako/trueflight

    range. 100y

    ammo. 100gr privi .243

    conditions. calm

target. my evil roy portable steel target

first shot on steel was high and right so i dialed into that and then fired a 4 shot string into the centre of the steel

    98d3248c.jpg

this close up shows that i could cover the dots with my thumb nail which would make the group about 1/2"

Got down to Midlands today and did some shooting with the .25-06 to keep the hand in before I get out for a stalk some day this week. Fired first at 200. I suspect the velocity from that barrel is greatly reduced due to the short length, would like to chronograph it to confirm, as it's hitting an inch and a half low at 200 when it should be about dead on.

    Rifle: Sako 75 in .25-06
    Range: 200 yards
Ammo: Federal Powershok 117gr Soft Point
    Conditions: Fine
    Group: 3 shots at 1.25"

    Image0106.jpg

Then moved out to 300. Had only fired at 300 once before and wasn't settled. Wasn't really today either but wanted to check drop. Wind had picked up a little so drifted a bit. Drop was much more than expected, a full foot, which also points to low velocities, but I can manage it for now until I come up with a fix.

All the same parameters regarding rifle, but 300 metres.
    Group: 5 shots at 2.5"
