    Hi all

As the title suggests, my GF is off the fags and starting to jog/run

While running is not a problem, but after approx 10 minutes or so she has to stop because of her lack of breath...

Is there anything she can do to help her get over this hurdle or is it just a case of sticking with it until her lung capacity improves?

I had the same thing when I gave up the fags. She'll just have to stick with it and things will improve. It's a case of getting a little furthe each timer before having to take the break.

Chances are there's years of gunk in her lungs that just takes time to clear.

google couch to 5k and stick with it.

    A: They work

B: When your a noob and just starting to run you usually go till you drop this is fun for about a week until the novelty wears off and then you start to hate running. You do a couch to 5k plan and it involves running and walking and for small times initially so it's a gradual easy way to get into it.

Just give her lots of support and encouragement and she'll get there. (consider running with her if you don't do it yourself)
