    Even supposedly wholesome cereals are often not what they appear. A bowl of Special K, skilfully marketed as a healthy choice, was found to have almost the sugar equivalent of a serving of Tesco Dark Chocolate Fudge Cake Premium Ice Cream. Little wonder the slinky red dress remains tantalisingly out of reach.

    Starbucks grande (16fl oz) caffe vanilla Frappuccino made with whole milk contains 15 teaspoons of sugar

    Lol a coffee with close to 600 calories. That's just not on!

    Eddie Rockets' milkshakes are all over 1,000 calories, with 120g of carbs(nearly 30 teaspoons of sugar).

    Now that is insane.

    Christ. You musn't be far off a days intake of calories if you get a milkshake, burger and chips there so. Probably exceed it if you got a dessert

    Am I the only one who finds this teaspoon measuring exercise a bit off? Obviously something that has 30 teaspoons of sugar isn't going to be good for you, but if a teaspoon is 5g which I think it is that's only 150g of sugar.

    On a related cereal note I was going to get some start before, supposedly wholegrain and for athletes, it has more sugar in it per serving than frosted shredded wheat, so I got that instead.

    I seriously think nutritional information should be given out by restaurants...

    ...especially franchises! This is ridiculous, especially the starbucks coffee.

    Have ye never seen them make the milkshakes in Eddie Rockets? lol. It's about half a tub of ice cream with some milk and cookies blended. Nom nom nom. But not hugely surprising to be giant in calories

    A teaspoon is 4.2g I think.

    Yup the milkshakes are 600ml.
    I had Eddie Rockets the other week, I had the classic hamburger, fries and an oreo milkshake. Had no idea of the calories in entailed at the time.

    Burger(1/3 pound of beef) = 765Kcal.

    Fries = 481Kcal.

    Milkshake = 1043 Kcal.

    A grand total of 2289Kcal.

    Scary thing about it is, I wasn't even that full after it and it only took be about 10 mins to eat.

    And we wonder why the Western world is experiencing an obesity epidemic?

    Calorie source is here and various other sites have the same figures.
